I'm a dental hygienist so I see this a lot. It's normal, it's called pregnancy gingivitis. Your hormones cause your gums to react differently to the plaque, causing them to swell or bleed. It should go away after the pregnancy, but until then it's really important to try to control it by flossing and brushing more often and better. Make sure you brush all the way to your gumline, even if the gums bleed. An electric brush like Sonicare does a really great job without you having to worry about brushing to hard or not long enough. Try the mouth rinse Peroxyl, it's basically Hydrogen Peroxide with some mint flavoring, but will help your gums to heal quicker. Hopefully it's not too bad, but gingivitis can put you at risk for preterm labor so try to get it under control before it gets too bad. Good Luck!
