Frustrated

So last week LO was diagnosed with a milk protein allergy due to blood in his stools. Well after eliminating dairy for a week LO seems worse. For the last two days the only time he's content is eating or sleeping. He's constantly eating and then I get about ten min out of him and he starts screaming and thrashing around. Hes been spitting up and milks been coming out of his nose. Could this be reflux and not a milk allergy? He's 7 weeks and EBF.

Sounds like it could be reflux. Try holding him up for 20 ,minutes after each feed and sleeping on an incline until you see your pedi.

Both of my kids had cows milk sensitivity. It seems their symptoms got worse before they got better it took a while to see dramatic improvement. I read in some cases it can take up to 4 weeks. Watch out for foods that are "milk free" but have specific milk proteins in them whey, casein. For example, nondairy creamer has milk protein in it. Check the labels do some research.

Milk is the most common allergen in infants, but other foods can be a problem too. Other common foods are soy and eggs. Also, there are some studies that have linked reflux to a symptom of cows milk sensitivity. Keep up all the hard work. You are not alone in this. It gets better!

Check to make sure you have cut out all hidden dairy (happened to me) and limit your soy intake as some kids react to soy. :hugs: it is really frustrating!
