Honda fit/Mazda 5 and convertible carseats

Hi everyone...I'm not a regular poster, but am in the process of researching convertible seats for my DD and am completely and totaly overwhelmed by the options.

DD is currently 6 mos and is 18.5 lbs and 25.5 inches. I am about 5'8" and DH is about 6" even. We split drop off and pick up duties, so we'll definitely need two seats (probably a third for my parents to use, but I'm trying to focus on the ones that will get daily use).  I drive a 2011 Honda Fit and DH drives a 2012 Mazda 5. Most of our family driving takes place in the Mazda. I do plan to RF as long as I can. DD still fits well in her Keyfit, but I'd like to take advantage of sales if they come up over the next few weeks.

Whew...so after all that, my main issue is that the seats that sound like they'll fit well (specifically the Diono Radian, possibly a True Fit?) are no where to be found for me to check them out, so I'm going to have to order online and just hope for the best.  Does anyone have experience fitting seats in either of these cars? Any other seats I should be looking at?! I'd like something that's fairly easy to install correctly, since that's a big fear of mine. Help!

I recommend heading over here and using the search feature to search for posts that mention your car models.

I have the Diono Radian RF in a 2007 Corolla. It fits, but your DH would probably be very uncomfortable sitting in the seat in front of it. The Radian is notoriously difficult to install, but we figured it out after a couple of hours. If you want an easy to install seat, the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio is supposed to be one of the easiest.

We ended up buying several seats off Amazon to test the fit because we couldn't find them in person within 100 miles of us. For the seat we returned, all we had to do was print out a return address label and drop it off at a UPS store. It was really easy if you buy a seat that's actually sold by Amazon and not a 3rd party store.

Graco MyRide, Diono Radian, Recaro Proride and Clek Foonf. I don't know infill ever recommend the Peg, for the price it's just not worth it. If I was putting down that kind of cash, I'd go for the Foonf, it should be fine in both.

Thank you! I'll check out the seats mentioned. I did search the other forum, but all the posts were a couple of years old, so I was hoping for more current info. Thanks again!

You can try posting on that forum to find specific assistance.

I own Radians and they are a huge PITA to install most of the time, although easier to install RF than FF, IMO.  The Graco MyRide would be a viable option.

We have a Evenflo Triumph in our 2010 Honda Fit and it works pretty well.
