39 weeks and hello working digestive system

I hav ebeen constipated for 38 weeks and 5 days..and all of the sudden my system is working.....some say this is a sign of labor arriving soon...any experience with this?????

Yes, same here. I have been constipated for my entire pregnancy until two weeks ago.  I am 39 weeks and 2 days. Things started to loosen up a couple of weeks ago and then were REALLY loose this morning. I hope this is a good sign, but I am a FTM, so I really have no idea.

I've been pretty regular through my entire pregnancy but within the past week, I've been going multiple times a day. I asked my doctor about it at my 34 week check up and she said that it was a sign that labor was close - but by close she meant that it could happen in a day or a month. Lol

It's hard for me to say because I was induced.  However, I was very normal with DS and the night before I had him, I ate dinner from a place I ate all the time and had a massive "clearing out".  So there may be some truth.  I just don't know if I would have went on my own since I was induced.

This was me with my first.  I was pretty regular but a few days before I went into labor things really started to move... if you know what I mean :)

The same thing happened with me about a day before my DD was born. My body evacuated everything, labor began the following morning and she was on her way! Best of luck to you!
