If you are wearing the right gear, it won't be nearly as miserable. It took me about three years to learn my lesson moving from sunny Oklahoma to Chicago, but I didn't own a car and had to walk at least two miles each day outside just to get to and from work. Having the right clothes to keep you warm but aren't too bulky is the key. That and waterproof boots!!
