Jackson Bailey?

Hello everyone!

My husband's family has rules about the naming of boys in the family.  My husband is the third, and our son is the fourth.  If we have a second son, he has to have a J first name.  We have John, Joshua, and Justin in the family already.  I was thinking that if we have a boy, we could name him Jackson.  There aren't any boys named Jack in the family. :)  My husband and DS have the initials JBB and want to keep those for DS #2.

What do you think of Jackson Bailey?  Any other boy names with a B you think would work better?

I hear you! The rules can be a bit of a bummer, but he did warn me before we got married, so I knew what I was signing up for.  :)

I would definitely call him Jack.  I think Jack is a cute name.  I also love Jacob/Jake.  DH likes James.  Thanks!

DS1 is Jackson Ben. Other "B" names we considered were Blake, Brandt and Bryce. I also like Bennett. Bailey's NMS. FWIW, although Jackson is hugely popular nationwide, it's not common at all in our social circle. I personally know WAY more Jacobs/Jakes than Jacksons/Jacks. It's all who you know.

Bailey is a girl's name.

I like Jack and Jackson for names, but not with Bailey.

Yeah...not a fan of rules, either.  Is there a J name from your side you want to use?  I mean if you're following his family's name rule (so ridiculous) shouldn't you have the right to use a name from your family?

Is this just for boys?  They don't care what the girl names are?  That makes me kinda angry.

Aaaaaanyway, enough of that.  Jackson is pretty trendy but it's a fine name, Bailey is only a dog name to me (my dog is Baylie)

How about....Jeffrey, Jonas, Jason, Jared, Jeremy, or Jesse?

For B's Brian, Bruce, Brendan/Brandan...

Honestly I think it's just OK.  There's nothing wrong with either name, but Jackson is so meh to me right now.  I actually sort of like Bailey in the MN spot, but I might be in the minority there.

These rules you have to follow seem really rigid, but it sounds like you are willing to appease.  If your are willing to take FN suggestions, what about:

Jonas

Jude

Jeremiah

Jason

Jordan

Julian

Jasper

Jared

James

Good luck!

I like the name Jackson/Jack, despite its popularity. I think of Bailey as a girl's name though. I like:

Jack Benjamin

Jackson Bryce

Jackson Bennett

Jackson Blake

Weird.  I don't think Bailey should be a name for anyone, but I definitely think boy before girl.  It's extremely popular in Britian and Australia for boys, but extremely popular in the US for girls (of course).

Jackson is just soo dang popular right now.  If you like the Jack nickname, I prefer John with the nickname Jack.

Other awesome J names:  Jacob, Jonathan, Jedidiah, Jeffrey, Jordan, Jude, Jake, James/Jimmy/Jamie, Jasper

Other awesome B names:  Benjamin, Brahm, Brandon, Brendan, Brennan, Bryce

Jackson - Love it!

However, I don't care for Bailey as MN.

Suggestions...

Jackson Ben

Jackson Brock

I like it.

I really like Jackson and my only problem with it is that is has gotten quite popular along with plain "Jack."

I didn't like Bailey until I read "The Night Circus" and there is a character with this name so it grew on me. =)

Thanks everyone!  I guess Bailey is out.  LOL  I appreciate the opinions.

Back to the drawing board with the middle name. :)

I much prefer Jack to Jackson.

Other J names I like are Julian, Jude, and Jonah.

Bailey is fine.

Other B names I like better are Bradley, Brandon, Bennett (Jack Bennett sounds great IMO), Bryson, Barrett

I like Jack better than Jackson, it's to trendy for me but there's really nothing wrong with Jackson Bailey. Is there a rule for naming girls?

Have you considered:

Joel, Jonathan, Jacob, Jared

Brett, Barron, Bram

I love Jackson!  Not a fan of Bailey, though.

Gotta be honest, though.  I don't care who I was marrying.  My kid, my name, MY say.  Poop on their rules!

Jackson is just SO overdone right now. I agree with Joy's suggestion of John and like her other J name suggestions, along with Jonah, Jeremiah, Joel, and Jared.

Love Jared Benjamin, or Jonathan Bryce.

The first son is the 4th and then all other boys have to start with a J.   It's a family tradition. :)  I don't mind, I just don't want to name my child something that is already in the family (John, Josh, Jason).

I would use a J name from my side, but the only ones are female names.

Girls don't have any rules, so I am naming a girl after my great grandmother if we have one.

I liked someone's suggestion above: Bennett for MN.

I also like Jayden but some will say it's more of a girl's name.
