Is this normal? re:AF

Starting about 3-4 cycles ago I have been spotting for days before and after my actual period. I never had this before. I used to spot one day before AF really "started"and then like brown a day after it ended. Now I am spotting for 5 days before and then dragging it out spotting for another 4 days after it "ends". So it's like two weeks worth of liners, pads, tampons... really cramping my style.

Should I talk to my gyno about this? Even if it's normal it's not normal for me KWIM?

I wouldn't bother. Cycles change for many reasons, including just getting older. My cycles now are nothing like my cycles pre-children. And this cycle has been extra strange, with lots of spotting (like I've been spotting off and on ever since O). But I've also been pretty stressed which I know can affect things.

So while I understand your frustration, I don't think this is need an appt. worthy. If you already have an appt. coming up (like your yearly) you could mention it then.

I would since you are TTC. If you weren't I'd say oh well. You want to make sure that your egg would have enough time to implant before AF comes, and starting to spot early might interfere with that.

After Marissa this is how my cycles were.  It was basically two weeks off, two weeks on and repeat.  It sucked!  Then I got pregnant with Dylan.  Then the same thing started happening after I had him.  When he was about 5-6 months old my period just disappeared, it comes very sporadically now, maybe once every 2-3 months with occassional spotting in between.  I really have no idea what my body is doing anymore.

I spot now for 2-3 days before my period starts for about the last 12 months. It's weird and it sucks. I don't think there is anything you can do about it and I'm pretty sure its fine from what I've been told.  Sad

Does your Ob office have a nurse on call? Mine does so I would call the on call line ( mine does it during office hours too that's when I would call) ask the nurse on call their opinion especially since you are TTC. 

Also did you ever start T in those dance lessons?

I agree with going to see the dr because you are TTC and like pp said if you are spotting that early your luteal phase may not be long enough which would make it very hard to get pregnant. It has to at least 10 days to get pregnant. Thankfully if that is your problem there are medications that easily extend your luteal phase.

Yes. I posted a pic of her in her leotard last week. It's on page 2 I think. She loves it and all she talks about is being a ballerina. Best investment ever.
