Bridal Shower advice needed! Please help.

Ok so one of my best friends' sister was supposed to host a shower for her on December 29th, but she backed out last minute and invites never went out. A few people know the date through word of mouth. I am not a bridesmaid but am helping one of her bridesmaids take it over. How do we properly invite people to a shower and bachelorette party that is 10 days away? By phone? I know email and fb are tacky so I don't know what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Wow!  Good luck.  I don't have any advice, but if I were a guest I wouldn't mind a phone call invite.

I think a phone call would be the best way to get the word out.  Can you and the bridesmaid split up the guest list?

I don't regularly check my personal email or facebook, so I might completely miss an invite that came to me that way.

If the date is 100% set call everyone and if the list is small enough put cute hand written invites in the mail (today lol) so people can have all the details.

Would it not be easier to call the people who think they know the date, rather than doing inviting everyone by phone?

 Things come up and events get rescheduled all the time, it's not a big deal to reschedule.

Thanks for all of your comments! This is getting crazier as the hours go on. We still don't have an invite list! Ahhh! I spent all morning trying to throw the planning together and then found out someone else started planning too. It's a group effort now. There is also tons of family drama and I dont know how this is going to come together. The date is set because of family and friends in town for the holidays. The other woman who started planning without consulting anyone even the bride is going to call everyone if we can get an invite list tonight. Oh and the bride hasn't registered yet. Hopefully it all works out but this is a total mess!

I think it sounds like a nightmare, especially if the BTB hasn't even registered yet.  Obviously she is not really "into it" either.  Personally, I'd try to work my way out of it if I were you...but if you can't do that then just let the shower be for family who will be coming in town for the holidays...and schedule another at a later date for those people who live close by.  Good luck!

Oh ya...definitely call.
