Thyroid meds still?

I was dxed w/ hypothyroid while I was pg with G. I never had problems w/ my thyroid before, and while the RE did tell me it was possible I would need to stay on meds even beyond being pg, I was surprised when they had to up my dose. It was up and down pretty crazy for a while till they straightened it out... just wondering if anyone else had and still has to take synthroid after pg?  It doesn't help they've got me on a weird regimen where I take it every day except Tues & Fridays, so I'm a little baffled by that but my last level finally came in normal.

This.

And honestly...I would ask for a lower dose every day of the week...it does not matter because the half life of T4 is so long that it averages out, BUT for me it is much more straightforward to take a pill every day than to try to remember it some days and not others.  I will always be on Synthroid, though, since I don't have a thyroid anymore.

If your levels are still good with the medication, then you probably still need it.

I agree. I wonder if you're on a dosage that's odd and that's why they're doing the pills that way.  It's basically a math game to get your total mg over the week to average out to what they want you to "take" daily.  If they've modified your dosage, then they may be able to vary out your schedule to a more user friendly one.
