Mail?

Does regular mail take longer this time of year? Usually it takes a day for a piece of mail to travel a few towns. My clinical instructor said she mailed me my letter of recommendation on Friday and I still haven't gotten it. She's only a few towns away. I applied to a nursing job at the hospital I work at and they can't interview me til my letters are in so I'm waiting impatiently because the longer the app process is open the less interviews they give out. My control freak self cannot handle the 0 control I have over this situation! Ugh!

yes with all the holiday mail going on it definitely takes longer for mail to process, and receive which may cause you a delay.

Ok that makes me feel better then. She told me she mailed it so why would she lie? I'm just so anxious. And I've asked two other people for letters and theyve said yes and that they would be ready days ago and now they don't answer phonecalls/emails or texts.

This! I sell a lot of things in eBay. Usually it takes 3-4 days max even across the country. Yesterday I mailed something to S Carolina and its not getting there for like 5-6 days. They are really busy right now. Plus our UPS man says a lot more people are using USPS because its cheaper, so they are even more busy than normal.

Thanks! One of my instructors finally emailed me back. She said she put it in the hospital mail system last friday so that probably takes an extra couple days regardless. Now if I can get it before Friday and get my other letter too and hand in my app this week I'll be one happy girl.

Ugh, that sucks! And that's so not the norm for this day and age! But I guess I get it, it would be easy to forge through email. At least this way they know its a true recommendation that you didn't alter.

Before I heard from her, I was almost going to print it out and have MIL just sign the damn thing and send it in that way haha...I was starting to get desperate there. Now lets just hope it comes in the snail mail by Friday so I can turn it in before the holiday madness! And lets hope all the people who mailed their packets will take extra time to get there [inset evil laugh here].
