Stupid sex question...sorry. TMI...

I don't know where to put this post...

I am about 10 weeks pp, and my husband and I have already had sex once, but it hurt SO bad...we tried again yesterday, but it hurt just like the last time...

Is this normal? I mean, I felt like I was wet enough...and we used a ton of lube... Also, I thought that after you had a baby you were really stretched out "down there"...

Has anyone successfully (meaning, without pain or discomfort) had intercourse yet?

TIA

I havn't been given the okay for sex yet, so I am not much help... but I did hear that it is pretty common for it to hurt the first few times after having a baby.

My OB said it is very normal to hurt at first and to try and relax as much as possible b/c tensing will make it a lot worse (obviously).

I'm 10 weeks pp too and have been having the same problem, apart from I couldn't even handle it the first time. I asked my doctor and he suggested "warming up" in the shower and going from there.

It's very, very normal.  I suggest a few glasses of wine and a lot of lube.

For me, it was painful until about 3 months PP, then uncomfortable until 6 months PP.  Then it was more normal.  Although there are still positions now that can be uncomfortable that weren't before.

First time we didn't even come close to finishing it hurt so bad. Second time was better - and my husband is super patient & willing to go slow. By the third I was enjoying it.

Like other said - lots of lube and patience. You know your body & if it hurts, it hurts. Everyone is different and heals differently. Just keep trying slowly and I'm sure you'll be back in the saddle in no time. :D

It did hurt for a long time after, but not horribly. I could no longer do quickies...I needed a lot of foreplay. I know people say you stretch out, but if anything, after DD I felt a lot tighter like DH couldn't get in there (TMI, sorry). I haven't tried yet after DS, I am only 6 weeks PP and still spotting.

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!  Still.  You would think things got larger but no.  Or my DH slipped the doc an extra $20 to add a stitch. LOL                                         Seriously though it is still uncomfortable.  But I'm gonna keep going at it.  It was almost 7 months without.  It was just too uncomfortable (for both of us) during pregnancy so when I was given the OK it was Go Time.  So from what I've read this seems normal.

The first time it hurt when he went in ( I had stitches) but I was also really nervous. We did it a few days later and it was a little uncomfortable but felt amazing...after that it was back to normal;) The first 5 times though I was on top so I can control the pressure and angle. It will get better...and being on top is VERY helpful

After DD it hurt really bad.  It felt like he was ramming a steel rod in there.  For some reason, it didn't feel better until after I got my period (about 4 months pp).  We used lube and lots of foreplay, but it just didn't feel good.  I also had a second degree tear and had stiches.

This time I haven't had any problems.  Felt good the first time and every time since.  I also didn't have any stiches this time, so I think that helps.  Just hang in there.  It gets better, I promise.  If it didn't people wouldn't have more than one kid, right?
