Q for those of you with children already,

preferably over a year. Do you like your kids' names more/same/less than when you chose them? Why?

I would say I like it the same. The name (Zachary) just fits him really well, I think. I like it because it's normal and classic without being TOO common.

We had two other names (a boy and a girl) going into the delivery room, and I would say I like those names less now than I did then.

We continue to love the name we picked for DS (Mason Nicholas - despite the increasing popularity of Mason), but it now has an awesome association for us and really seems to suit his personality. I don't know that we like it or love it more than when we chose it, but it definitely has more meaning for us now, if that makes sense.

I like it the same, if not more. We were between Danica and Savannah and for about a month after she was born I still had doubts. But, I am SO glad we went with Danica. And I am completely over the name Savannah. I didn't have it on our list for this time at all.

Both of my boys are named after family members, so I'll always love the meaning behind them. Aside from that, it's fun to see how DS1 has really grown into his name... and this only makes me adore it more. He owns it, frequently referring to himself by his full name and rejecting various nicknames. Regarding DS2, I'm obsessed with his name. Anything that I can get personalized with it, I do :)

We had a really hard time naming DS and he was nameless for a few days after birth.  I think his name really fits him and I can't imagine him being named the other 2 names we were throwing around.  We like it more, although DS sometimes prefers being called Boo.

I would say I like it more. Wyatt was just one of the names on our list, and my husband mentioned it while I was in labor and I agreed to it. I liked it, but it wasn't my favorite on the list. But now I love it and I'm so glad we went with it.

My kids are nearly 4 and just over 5 years old.

Their names are Robert and James.

I love them.

That's a really good question!  My kids are Holly and Fraser.  I like their names more than when I chose them (they're 14 and 16).  I like them because they aren't frequently heard.

I think I like it the same. On one hand, it is less exciting of course because it isn't new. But, on the other, I love DD so much and it is her name, so it makes me like it even more. So I think it kind of breaks even.

BRUGGS10:
more, her personality fits her name now

This!  We couldn't decide between 3 names.  DD came really early (11 weeks early) so we had to make a quick decision.  I don't make quick decisions.  We went with our gut and I love it, despite it's popularity.  I couldn't imagine her being named the other two.

I like it more. Why? Because I really wasn't a fan of the name, but kept a promise (and nice compromise) to my H that we can name our first boy after his two grandfathers. I like DS's first name a lot more (Michael), but I'm still not a fan of his middle (Samuel), and definitely not together. But like I wrote, it really meant a lot to DS.

This time, the name is whatever the heck I want. Too bad DH likes my choices though, to the point that he doesn't want me to consider anything else Stick out tongue

For my son (Connor), I like his name a lot more.  It wasn't on my short list really but my DH **loved** it.  And he rarely feels strongly about baby names.  That, paired with the fact that I didn't dislike it and had basically gotten to name my DD exactly what I wanted caused me to really give in.  At first I was luke warm, but now that it is "him" I just adore it.  It fits and my association is obviously positive  since I love my kid ;).

For my daughter (Katherine nn Kate) I like it the same.  I would say "more" except for the fact that the name Kate has been super popular in my social circle and it starts to feel a little overdone/tired.  I have no regrets as I think it is a wonderful, classy, beautiful name.  I just wish she wasn't "Kate Q" everywhere.

I agree. I like all three of my kids' names more than when I named them but it is less exciting when it's not as fresh.

I love my daughters names now more than ever as they grow into them. I had doubts about dd2 name b/c of a bad association (miley cyrus) but went with it and am SO glad I did b/c I love it!

I wish I had went with my gut on dd2 middle name but it is so her now I can't imagine her middle name being the other name.

I adore their names as much as I did when we named them. Oliver is 9, and it's still by favorite boy name by far. Simone is 4, and I have zero regrets. Heck, I wish that was my name. Francesca is 8 months, and I can't imagine doing anything else for her. I am kinda jealous bc my name is Kimberly(Kimmy), and I wish I had something cool, but classic like them.

The same, if not more. DS's FN is just something we loved but his MN is after my grandpa. I could never imagine him as any of our other top choices! His personality fits his uncommon name and we love it! Now to find a name we love as much for LO2...

I like Ava less because there are so many.

Roman isn't a year but I love it more now. I didn't like any boy names and when DH picked it out I was ok with it but it grew on me and I can't think of a more perfect name.

Yes, we love it just as much as we did when we chose it.  Some may say the name Alyssa is outdated, but to us Alyssa Claire sounds classic.

I like it even more now. It's who he is and he's awesome. For me, I feel like just about any name, once it's been a kids name for awhile, is just a part of who he/she is and I couldn't not (like the double negative?) like it more once it's that connected. Also, in my case, at the beginning my parents were just so-so about the name, but now they love it too, that's made me like it even more as well.

Two of the three I love more, not so much the third. My older two Greg (20) and Hillary (17) just fit their names so well, and we never ever hear them yet everybody knows how to spell and pronounce them and I love that! My youngest (15) I really thought was gonna be a boy, and I never really found a girls name I liked. Well, exH convinced me into Breanna and I never really felt it, and then it got pretty popular for a while, so that didn't help. BUT, she never goes by Breanna, she's been Bea since she was a baby and I love that name on her. She just IS a Bea. I wish I'd named her Beatrice instead!

We love our kids names even more!

They seem to really fit their names and I'm proud every time I hear other people say their names. The family connections mean a lot to us too!
