when did you start to feel uncomfortable ?

I will be 24 weeks on Saturday and it feels like the weight of my belly is pulling me forward and my back inward/curved (i already had a bit of lordosis beforehand). I am getting that "pregnancy walk" and my back hurts if I sit too long. I am also 5 feet tall, so not sure if that has any impact.Lucky for me, it has not affected my sleep so far (knock on wood)

When does the real uncomfortableness kick in???

do you know of any stretches that can help lengthen, straighten out the back?

25 weeks is when I started to notice the small things. Such as the heavy belly pulling you forward, the harder more uncomfortable attempts at getting up. But I wouldn't say I got real uncomfortable until 30 weeks when it started to affect how well I sleep.

Sorry no advice on the back thing. I'm 6ft and haven't noticed my back hurting other then when I stand to long :S

Good luck with continued comfort!

I can't sleep at night and it just started this week. Last week was fine and then BAM I can't sleep at night at all so I sleep throughout the day. Ugh I hate it so much.

It started getting bad for me at 34 weeks. Tylenol has helped a little and there are some yoga stretches, but I'd ask your doctor about it first. Good luck!

I thought I had bad back pain and was uncomfortable around then... then I hit 36 weeks and it got ten times worse.  I'm short as well so when I try to sit up my belly pushes up against everything which is very uncomfortable... my back pain has only gotten worse and trying to walk is quite the chore... just take it easy.  If your back starts hurting try to change positions if you can, if you're at work bring a pillow if they will allow it to help mold it to your back.

I started feeling routinely uncomfortable around 32 weeks. The extent varies from day to day.

I had times between 20 and 30 weeks that I thought I was uncomfortable but then I hit 36 weeks and I found out what uncomfortable meant. 37 weeks now and hoping baby decides to come at least a few days early because another 3 weeks with these pains might make me go crazy.

I felt more heaviness, pressure and soreness on occasion in the late 20/early 30 weeks, but it wasn't until 34-35 weeks that true discomfort really set in.

Before 34 weeks I could walk up and down the stairs without needing a rest. I could do chores for more than 25 minutes without sitting down for a break. I could sleep OK (minus the need to go to the bathroom) and wake up without lots of hip and back pain. And I could walk without straight up waddling.

My back really hurt me around 24 weeks also. I'd take tylenol extra strength- just one took the edge off. Baths were amazing also. Do you work on your feet? My back pain virtually went away since I stopped working as much. As for the uncomfortableness, it gets worse. I can't sit for too long or stand for too long... and I was doing fine with sleep until around a few weeks ago! I'm 36 wks now... I wake up all the time and sometimes can't get back to sleep for a few hours. Last night I slept from 11:30ish til 1, 2-5, and probably 730ish til 9. Maybe it's my body's way of getting used to nighttime with a newborn??? Anyhow, I'M SO READY!

This. I was totally fine up until maybe 32-33weeks when insomnia finally hit me and I can't fall asleep peacefully. Now at 35 weeks, it hurts to walk for more than half an hour and to get up off the couch. My back is sore everyday even if I don't do much.

Last week (32 weeks) I noticed I was walking pretty much belly first lol. When baby gets out of my ribs and settles lower I feel really uncomfortable and lots of pressure. I don't know what is worse but I'd rather her be low than have her dislocate another rib! I know I feel much better today as I saw my chiropractor yesterday! I highly recommend finding one who works with pregnant ladies, mine is really keeping me sane and is so supportive. I've had a lot of issues with basically my body being overzealous and stretching too much, too fast!

I'll be 30 wks tomorrow and I starting to get uncomfortable now. My belly over the last week has really popped. My peri told us last week that this is gonna be a big baby. Ok well this baby & I are out of room!!! I know that our bodies do some amazing things but I'm beginning to wonder if it's gonna make the stretch without my skin ripping open :)!!

Honestly I'm still pretty comfortable. Unless I'm getting out of bed or off the couch.

Somewhat uncomfortable: 28 weeks

Really uncomfortable: 33 weeks

OMG, I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE: 35 weeks

and now, at almost 37 weeks, I just am doing what I can to make it through the day. and counting down until the baby is not inside me anymore.

Around 34 I started feeling more uncomfortable and had a harder time sleeping.  I've had to sleep with a pillow between my knees since about 30 weeks to help my hips.  About 36 1/2 it got really bad.  My back hurts so badly and there's nothing that helps it, I can't sleep at night anyway and the back pain makes it 150x worse.

Since LO seems to be moving lower and lower there's a lot more discomfort down there and the BH are starting to hurt.  It gets worse with each week but at least each week you're that much closer to having him/her out.

Around 30 weeks I started to get annoyed because I couldn't get off the couch, out of bed or put on my shoes without feeling a foot/arm/who knows what in my lungs. At 35 weeks my belly dropped and I could breathe, but then it just started growing out and I began to feel like a whale and get stretch marks. Now, at 37 weeks I'm swollen, huge and just ready to be done. My maternity clothes are starting to get tight and I just want control over my body again.

Somewhere around 28 weeks maybe. My back started to hurt so bad I could barely walk at times. Now at 37 weeks I am just trying to get through the day. Everything is uncomfortable. My clothes don't fit, my back hurts, my hips, the heartburn.. you just deal with it.

I would try yoga for your back. Or there are some exercises on spinningbabies.com that may help. I have also seen a chiropractor and massage therapist for some relief.

My discomfort didn't really start until last week.  Now it's really all in my back, my butt and my crotch.  My back kills me (which is likely from the 3 hour round trip commute to and from work), my butt hurts after sitting for any length of time (on a hard surface or a soft one) and my crotch feels like I'm been kicked.

As for any stretches, I've just started doing what I think is called a dead lift (but don't hold me to it).  You can stand or sit.  When you stand, you just keep your back as straight as you can and lean toward the floor as far as you can comfortably go.  Let it stretch for a few seconds and come back up.  I do it a few times.  You can also add a light weight, if you feel the need, but I wouldn't go over 5 pounds unless you were regularly working out already.  If you do it in a chair, it's basically the same, just try to sit towards the edge, but not too far... you don't want it to tip over.

With my first pregnancy life pretty much stopped for me at 35-36 weeks.  I was on the couch everyday after work for 4 weeks.  I was hopeless.  This pregnancy has been much easier in the final trimester.  I really just started to get uncomfortable this week, which is 38 weeks for me. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I own a business that keeps me running around town and on my feet all day-and I really don't have a choice to take off work, since I work for myself.  I think my higher level of activity this pregnancy has helped made it less painful this time around.

With that said, my back IS hurting as it type this right now, though.  Big Smile

I started feeling really uncomfortable around 33 weeks... I am 35 now... Within the last week my feet have gotten so swollen that the swelling is now touching the floor.... if you look at an elephant's leg that's literally what my leg and feet look like.... and somehow I swear my belly literally doubled in size.... and everyone keeps telling me I am all belly... so hopefully I can still fit in my maternity clothes as we finish these last few weeks...

Baths helps, putting my feet up help, sitting a lot helps (except for when his foot ends up in my ribcage) but I don't think anything will truly help until he is out of my belly :)

Some days are worse than others, and some days I feel just fine. Simple yoga stretches have been a godsend, as well as some pilates stretches (check out the 10 minute solution on youtube).
