DS started with this problem about 1-2 years ago. His pedi said it was an anal fissure, but still sent us to a specialist. Bloody stool has happened to DS on & off since then, so I have been giving him fiber gummies each day.
He had a very bad bleeding episode in September and we were sent back to the specialist, and now DS is soon to be scheduled for an endoscopy & colonoscopy, since it has been determined by the specialist that it was NOT an anal fissure or hemorhoid.
Of course this is our experience, but make sure to have it thoroughly checked out by your pedi to make sure its nothing more serious.
