I'm as sick as a dog =(

Don't know what that expression is used but it felt right to use it. It's so weird. I've been so good with keeping up with my Prenatals, Vitamins and Calcium. I didn't think I could get sick if the flu came right up to my face and stayed there. But unfortunately, I've got some type of Viral infection. I have a fever that will NOT go away. The highest it's been is 100.9. I've called my OB and she just suggested that I take Tylenol every 4-6 hours and rest. Which I have been doing, and drink a lot of fluids. Which I'll admit, I have NOT been doing. I can't swallow anything. My throat hurts wicked bad and all around this sucks. I have less of an appetite now than I did with my MS. I guess there's not much else I can do besides stay in bed for a couple days and just let this ride out? I'm just scared, I've been taking so much Tylenol (as per request from Dr) and I know the Dr requested to take it every 4-6 hours. I'm just scared it'll hurt the baby. And I've been sucking on cough drops like it's my job. And keeping down some chicken Broth, that's about it. I thought that if you keep up on your Vitamins while pregnant, it's harder to get sick...

Guess not.

Sorry, this is random I know, but I just wanted to vent. I'm at home all alone in bed and just need someone/something to talk to. Lol

Side note... I'm so light headed. Could be from the fever? Lack of eating? I've also lost more weight, and that scares me. I'm 11 weeks 4 days and I've lost a total of 8-9 pounds

=(

The light headedness can just be from what your body is going through. If you aren't eating or drinking enough water that can do it too. Have you tried popsicles? Warm broth can give you some protein and you can put noodles in it for a little more staying power. Oatmeal is great too. If it sounds good then try it.

Keep it up with the tylenol and watch that fever. If it gets too high it can be dangerous, but you are already on top of that.

You can do your best but pregnancy lowers your immune system's ability to fight off infection. No amount of vitamin will fix that. So its just a risk you take being pregnant. Wash your hands and clean the surfaces in your home regularly. You don't want to re-infect yourself later.

Just keep trying. I know its miserable, but you are doing the best you can.

I feel your pain, I have been home from work for about a week and a half with the plague.  I did have the fever for about 3 days and tylenol controlled it.  If you can get fluids in that will help lots too.  I basically didn't really eat much for the first few days and even now am still forcing myself.....good luck, just rest up as much as you can.....
