QOTW:  If you've had a blood clot while pregnant (or pp), what week did it happen?

Hi there! I have antiphospholipid antibody syndrome and am currently only on baby aspirin; however, I plan to and am hoping to be started on lovenox soon, if that's what my 2nd opinion recommends. It's just so hard to believe that a tiny little aspirin can prevent the mess I was in with my daughter...30 week early onset of severe preeclampsia and emergency delivery at 33 weeks. I also had a prior loss at 6 weeks due to unknown causes. Right now I'm 9w1d according to my 8w ultrasound, from a natural IUI cycle. I was discharged by my RE after 8 weeks, and have my next appt with a nurse at my ob's office on 12/27...I'm planning to make a push for lovenox then. Nice to meet you all, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you over these next 8 months!!

Forgot to add: my daughter had IUGR, apparently as a result of the placental clotting.

My EDD is July 24th!

This week we revealed to the world! Told my family on Sunday during our Christmas party and then everyone else on Christmas day. I'm so happy our secret is out! I have an appt tomorrow and super excited to hear baby's heart beat again. Bruises aren't too bad, but seem to be coming more frequently lately.

QOTW: I had a clot prior to ever being pregnant, which is when I had the slew of bloodwork done that determined I was homozygous factor five. Since then I've been on Coumadin or Lovenox ever since and will continue for the rest of my life. Since I should remain therapeutic forever, it's my hope that I should never experience a clot during pregnancy.

Second check in, but forgot to add my EDD so I'm not on the list.

First pregnancy.  History of DVT (Paget Schroetter Syndrome), likely as a result of a structural issue in my body compressing a vein.  EDD April 18th.  On Fragmin 5000 once/day.

For STM's+, At what week did they take you off your meds and how long did your Dr. let you go without meds before they wanted to induce you?  I am likely coming off at 37 weeks and my hemo said I will likely be induced at 39 weeks.

Hey there, surprised there is a blood clot group on here, but cool!

I'm Deni, When I was 8 weeks pregnant with my son (2 yrs) my Rheumatologist ordered blood work and decided to check me for Lupus clotting factor. I have Fibro and arthritis, but my Mother has Lupus so he checks me once a year usually. He called me back a few days later and told me about the clotting factor. Which sent me into a state of panic. (My mother lost 2 babies 5 months and 6 months from the same clotting problem). They told me they had already contacted my OB (who is has also been my mother's OB for 27 years). I was started up the next week on Lovenox and asprin.

I really didn't have too many problems with my son. My only real complaint was that the Dr. insisted on inducing me 2 weeks early, and I reacted poorly to the pitocin, and then reacted even worse to the epidural. Seriously debating how I want to handle things this time around.

He did a repeat test for this pregnancy and I had to start the lovenox again about 2 weeks ago. Last time I started it in the spring, but this time its winter and I'm FREEZING all the time. I'm a Wisconsin girl and love the cold. But I'm constantly shivering and my hands go ice cold. So it has not been fun. Lots of Blankets, several layers of clothes and several cups of Hot Tea with warm baths are the only thing keeping me sane!

Of course I'm covered with bruises and hematomas, but at least I can hid them :)
