Grrrrrr!! Long sorry :/

Ok this is a vent about one of my best friends baby shower. She lives in Florida and I in Virginia. She found out she was pregnant when I found out I was pregnant the year before. So basically our babies will be one year apart. So cool!

Fast forward to baby shower. I can't really plan it because I live so far away with a LO of my own and tight on money. But she has another best friend who "said" she'd plan it. I messaged her in October asking what the deal was. She said "she was hoping to plan it waiting to find out what she was having" (don't know what that has to do with anything) I told her to keep me posted because I wanted to be able to come and not to leave me out.

Ok Fast forward to today. Have heard nothing since. I was talking to my best friend on the phone and asked her about baby shower. She said she didn't know when it was and thought me and other BF were planning (ahhhhhhh)

She said she believed it was on Feb. 9th and was going to be at her house which she preferred

So after I get off the phone with her I frantically message Florida BF of hers and asked her if she is planning the baby shower - well here is the conversation (make it easier)

    • ME -Hey just wanted to know if you were doing A's baby shower. Just got off the phone with her and she doesn't know when it is. Aren't you throwing her one?


      • HER - Hey girl!

        I wanted to but when I try to hint she says she Dosnt want it anywhere but her house soo we can't surprise her if its there :0(


        • ME  - It doesn't have to be a surprise. Mine wasn't. She told me she just wanted a gathering at her house. It doesn't have to be crazy but I do think she needs one!

          She said Feb 9th would be perfect. Is there anyway you can make this happen?

          I can get a list of people she wants and addresses and send out the invitations. All you would need is food a some decorations. You can get chris to help??


          • HER - I'm not 100% sure I could do that day! I'm gonna have to ask dooney to see if I can have off. Let me figure it out


            • ME - Just some punch, 5 or 6 finger food (like meat balls, finger sanwhiches, fruits and veggies) and a cake

              ok Let me know. It doesn't have to be on Feb 9th .. that is just when she said she thinks it is lol


              • HER - Ok


                • ME - Because invitations should go out a month before the event so early January EEKk!!

              OK so that was the exchange... I am just so hurt for my friend I want her to have a baby shower and it stresses me out that it might not happen. So I messaged her husband and filled him in and told him to talk to Florida BF and his mom and crack the whip. And if Florida best friend backs out give me his mothers phone number so I can help her plan from here. Also told him to not let his wife know what's going on because I do not want to stress her out

              So I already got her to start compiling a list of people she wants and addresses and I'll do invitations. But before I send them out I need to know who is throwing the dang thing and the date!!

              Ok if you followed me through this thanks for listening just needed to vent because obviously I could not vent to my best friend in FL.

              I think the FL best friend needs to be removed from her duties. It doesn't sound like she is going to come through. I mean heck this is Dec. 20th, and she doesn't know if she can get Feb. 9th off? That is well over 30 days notice for her employer. Sounds like your going to have to stay on het tail about it!

              DH had to literally plan my baby shower because my best friend is a complete flake, and my mom didn't know what to do. I was a little hurt that my mom kind of just gave DH a check and said you do it. I wouldn't have cared what she turned out as long as she cared enough to do it herself. It's nice that you are willing to take over even though it is hard on you. I am sure she will appreciate the effort. I know I would have. BTW, DH did a fantastic job. I should be a little nicer to him ... NAH!

              EEk not good. FL best friend obviously didn't care that much to just drop the ball like that. Good for you for cracking the whip and start planning yourself.
