BJ Versa recall...Uppababy Vista?

A couple of weeks ago H and I went to a baby boutique and spent over an hour looking at strollers.  We decided on the Versa and were happy about the decision.  A few days later the recall came out.  I'm not scared away by the recall, because I know they can happen to everyone and it was a voluntary one, but I'm a little skeptical about the way BJ handled it.  Apparently there were a lot of complaints and BJ kept saying there wasn't a recall, until finally they did recall it.  And if you go on their FB page, anytime someone asks about the Versa or when the new, corrected model is coming out, they keep responding with a canned message to just call customer service.

Our backup choice is the Uppababy Vista.  H really liked it, and although I kind of thought it was a beast, it does fulfill our other requirements.  I'm not due till May so we have a lot of time yet, but I have family members asking about which stroller we want, so I suspect they want to give it to us as a gift.  If you were me, would you wait around to see what happened with the Versa, or would the customer service and stuff make you go with the Vista instead?

Sorry this was so long.

I have no experience with the versa but we have a bj city select and an ub vista ....mi much prefer the vista as far as quality and customer service. What about the ub Cruz? I think it's similar in size to the versa?

Yeah, H didn't like the Cruz because he thought the wheels were a lot more unsubstantial.  We'll probably be doing a lot of sidewalk strolling.

If you're only doing sidewalk strolling, the Cruz is perfect. It's not meant for trails or serious off-roading, but with sidewalks and flat grass you're perfectly fine. The only thing I think would turn people off is it's not a terribly flat fold. It's easy to fold, but if we had a small car, it would take up the entire trunk. Not a problem for us with an SUV, but something to think about. Otherwise, we love this stroller.

Honestly, I would still go with the Versa.  They fixed the issue.  A canned message on FB is normal.  I highly doubt Baby Jogger really runs their own FB page.  A lot of companies outsource.

I have had to contact Baby Jogger via phone a few times and have been nothing but pleased.

If you love the Versa I'd still go with the Versa probably.  With that said we bought an UB Vista.  UB is supposed to have amazing customer service too.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Cruz fold - I kept having issues figuring it out - but I could adjust.  Our sidewalks are pretty old and bumpy, and I think that's what H is worried about.  He also just said he didn't like the Cruz as well as some of the other options, unfortunately.

The recall doesn't have anything to do with any incidents. It was voluntarily, before there could be a problem. To me that's all no big deal. It's fixed. As for FB...I think people use company FB pages for the wrong reasons. It isn't a Customer Service forum. I saw a store by me had a sign that they're expected mid January. I dont know if thats new orders or what. Just call your store and ask them.
