Why do you need to help him? There isn't always an answer to what babies do. If he's not crying then just let him do his thing. Some babies get all amped up when they learn something new and it causes them to wake in the night and want to do what they've learned. They develop so quickly that sometimes it keeps them up but you don't need to change this.
