Overkill names

Just for fun, what are some names you are so sick of seeing as recommendations or names that you hate that are becoming popular. I'll go first:

Girls:
Charlotte
Penelope
Gwendolyn or Gwen

Boys:
At the moment, no boys names seem to bother me.

Claire/Clare.  So over Claire.  And Olivia.  ETA: Nora(h)

Declan.  I just don't "get" the appeal of this name.  At all.

And I love Gwen Embarrassed

I agree with Claire and Nora.  I'll add in Catherine.

For boys, I'm just so stuck on Reed.  I don't get the appeal but everyone suggests it all the time.

I also want Emmett to go away.

Yup! I take back my original post. Can't STAND Declan! Reminds me of Dunkin Donuts for some reason...

Also, Claire is now added to my list to.
I swear I see Claire, Penelope, Gwen and Charlotte recommended on these boards EVERY DAY.

I'm tired of some very popular names, they are nice names, lots of people love them but they are overkill to me...

Girls: Sophie/Sophia, Chloe

Boys: Jackson, Mason

Edit: I'd like to add Nora/Norah to the girls list...they are everywhere!

Girls Audrey, Harper, any of the Em names Emily, Emma, Emelie, Emmeline and lots more of the names that sound like they should be last names.

Boys Haven't given it much thought since I am having a girl. But I think most are ok.

These are nice names but I am tired of seeing them suggested/ mentioned:

Violet

Isla

Scarlett

Cora

Evelyn (love this name)

Nora

Elise

Amelia/ Emilia

Lillian

For some reason, boy names don't bug me as much.  Maybe because there seems like there is less to choose from?

Super crazy sick of Rose and Grace in the MN spot.  (makes me sad because my Grandma's name was Rose but I feel sort of lame using it now.)

HAHA. My husband allllways says Pee-nuh-lope when I mention a Penelope.  Without fail.

Oh, oh.  I really need to add Adeline to the list.  This name is just blah ... "add a line" for emphasis!

I would also agree with Nora or Cora...don't get the appeal.

This could just be an OCD part of me but the thing I HATE most is when people suggest names that wouldn't fit the OP's criteria, but not like they want A names and there is an E name, but when they say they can't use Emma because its their goddaughter's name and someone suggests Emma.  I swear some people suggest the same list of names to every.single.poster. Yes, I admit I take it wayyyy to seriously lol

I really, really can't stand the trendy names ie. Kinley, Hadley, Harper, the -aydens.  They are so overused.  And I don't like the I'm-having-a-girl-but-I'm-giving-her-a-boy-name-but-making-it-look-more-feminine-by-adding-a-y trend.  Ick.

Riley, Ryliegh or any other spelling. Riley is a great boy name and I hate that so many little girls have it.

Mason. It's super popular and all I think is Mason jars and moonshine

Penelope, Clementine, Annabelle... I just can't stand them. They are names that I think look nice on paper but cannot imagine using it IRL. Annabelle is the worst for me, not 100% sure why, but I can't picture a grown woman carrying this name well at all, it just sounds too cute-sy to me.

Jackson/Jaxon/Jaxson (shudders), Jayden, Declan, Rowan... there is a lot more boy names I dislike. I am into classic, traditional boy names right now.

I agree with alot of pp. Bella, Elle/Ella, Olivia, Sophia, Abigail..nice names but so over them. And any of the boys names on girls just irritate me.

For boys I am so over the Jackson trend and anything with Aiden in the name.

I totally agree with you! But for me, I can't stand it when people push their style on someone. If someone comes on and likes Harper or Ainsley, I CAN'T STAND IT that people suggest Harriet, Eleanor, Evelyn, etc. I really don't subscribe to the mentality that only one naming style is "correct."

That said, names that I personally think are annoying:

Penelope

Eleanor

all the Irish names - I love them, but I really can't see naming your kid that IRL, unless you speak Gaelic or live in Ireland

Addison

Emmeline

Mia/Maya (SO old)

Everett, Emmett, Wyatt, basically all those "tt" names that are handsome-sounding but bland (to me)

Unnecessarily flowery names like Anabella, Seraphina, etc.
