Subcorionic bleed

Has anyone else had an experience with a subcorionic bleed?? I am almost 9 weeks along and last night when I got up to go to the bathroom, there was alot of blood in the toilet. I called and spoke to an on call midwife who told me to come in this morning for an ultrasound. I went and the baby is okay, has a strong heartbeat of 189 and my midwife doesn't seem too concerned. But, I can't help but be worried because I am still bleeding each time I go to the bathroom. She told me just to monitor the bleeding and make sure it doesn't get any worse and the subcorionic bleed is small. I am still scared though because I have read other message boards where people have gone for ultrasounds and they were told baby was okay and then they miscarried shortly after. I am also nervous because today was the first day that I didn't feel that nauseous. Please help! Any input is much appreciated!!

WIsh i saw these posts when i was pg with my daughter - I had two of those.  One early on about 5 1/2 weeks and i pretty much bled or spotted until i was about 9 weeks.  And then another huge gush with some spotting at about 14 weeks.  Nervewrecking for sure - but truly as long as no crazy cramping along with you are fine.  With my first bleed early on i did have some slight cramping with it but obviously all is well as she is torturing me right now :)

Yes, I had a very large one with my first.  Started bleeding at 10 weeks, the worst (including clots half the size of my fist) was over by 16 weeks, and spotting continued until 22 weeks.  Mine was located below and eventually in front of the baby, so it wasn't putting downward pressure on the sac.   They usually either reabsorb or bleed out in bits and pieces...mine did both.   I was put on restricted activity (no exercise, no lifting, no sex, etc.) the entire time so if your MW didn't recommend that I'd do it anyway until it is resolved.  GL!

I had bright red bleeding at 5 weeks, for 3 to 4 days. Thought I was miscarrying as I have had 2 previous losses and was pretty much sent home by my OB to let it happen.

After I stopped bleeding I just knew I was still pregnant and an HPT confirmed it. Went back to my OB for bloods and my levels were right up so they did an U/S to see what was going on. We saw our baby, but also a reasonably large SCH above the sac.

We are having another U/S in a few weeks to keep an eye on it but my OB doesn't seem concerned. Like you though, I would rather not be dealing with it.

I did my own research and the miscarriage rate with an SCH is 1-3% so reasonably low.

I was also recommended to reduce activity, lifting, straining etc and rest more than not so as not to aggravate the SCH and give it a chance to re-absorb.

Last Thursday I had the same experience. I was 6 weeks and 5 days. I was given an ultrasound, my baby was/is also fine. The doctor told me to take it easy for a week and not have sex for 1 week once the bleeding stopped. I have spotted about every other day since then. The doctor really eased my fear when he said there was no reason to think I wouldn't be delivering a baby in 7 months... Thoughts and Prayers coming your way!

I had one with my daughter. I started spotting at 6 weeks. Discovered the sch on u/s. At 10 weeks, I had a partial abruption. I bled daily until 30 weeks, and spotted until I delivered.

It was scary, but my maternal fetal specialist gave me a lot of reassurance. He said that anytime I am bleeding without cramping!, then it is an issue with ME physically. Not the baby.

I had a subchorionic with DD, never had any bleeding and it resolved around 16 weeks I think.  I had an uncomplicated pregnancy and she was/is healthy.  Didn't have one with DS.  I have one with this pregnancy.  At almost 6 weeks I had a lot of bright red blood and cramping on u/s they found a subchorionic bleed.  I haven't had any bleeding since and baby appears to be developing fine.  They are very common.  My ob said that he thinks that the u/s technology is better now so they are being identified more often.  Best wishes for you!

Me. I'm still spotting at nearly 15 weeks but they said my SCH is shrinking and some blood is normal. They promised to give me an ultrasound every time there's more than spotting which is nice. Hang in there!

I had a couple of these between 10 and 14 weeks (including a fun Friday night ER visit when we found out we're having a boy!), and while they're scary as f*ck with all the bleeding and clots, everything is fine now, and there haven't been any other issues since then.

I have a moderate size one right now at 8 weeks. I was told baby looks excellent and there is only a 15 chance this won't work out. I have not had any bleeding. Fingers crossed for all of us!
