I had bright red bleeding at 5 weeks, for 3 to 4 days. Thought I was miscarrying as I have had 2 previous losses and was pretty much sent home by my OB to let it happen.
After I stopped bleeding I just knew I was still pregnant and an HPT confirmed it. Went back to my OB for bloods and my levels were right up so they did an U/S to see what was going on. We saw our baby, but also a reasonably large SCH above the sac.
We are having another U/S in a few weeks to keep an eye on it but my OB doesn't seem concerned. Like you though, I would rather not be dealing with it.
I did my own research and the miscarriage rate with an SCH is 1-3% so reasonably low.
I was also recommended to reduce activity, lifting, straining etc and rest more than not so as not to aggravate the SCH and give it a chance to re-absorb.
