Pp checkup

I saw my family doc instead of my OB because with my OB I always saw him minimum one hour after my appointment, and there's risk of waiting that long and then being cancelled. With the hours DH works, I had to being LO with me and that's a long time to be in a doctors office.
He very briefly looked at my incision and asked if there was anything else I needed, so I asked for a prescription for birth control.
Was there anything else I should have asked? I dunno.. It felt like a regular, go get a prescription, appointment. And not a, you had a baby 4 weeks ago, appointment.
Edit: he also said its preferable to wait until 6 weeks to have sex, but I can now if I want, and I can go ahead and exercise now if I'm feeling up to it.

At my PP appointment, my OB looked at me and did an exam as well to make sure everything healed on the inside. I personally would have gone to my OB to make sure, but that's just me

Yeah. I'm thinking about trying to get in on one of DHs days off in the new year.
Last time I was at my OB I saw him 2.5 hours after my appointment time.

:Appointment at 4:30 saw him at 7pm:

And the other OB in the office had to cancel the rest of his appointments because he got called to the hospital.

So far I've only had my 2 week appt and there wasn't much to it. I filled out a depression questionnaire and the midwife asked how my repair felt. She didn't examine it but I'm sure she would have if I'd wanted her to. She asked what we plan to use for contraception and asked about my bleeding. She asked about incontinence and said we could resume sex when the bleeding stopped. She gave me a handout on kegels and building up to ab work.

I haven't had my formal PP checkup but I have had two appointments about my stitches and the midwife told me it would just go over birth control choices, being cleared to exercise, and checking on my tear

I haven't had mine yet, but what she said! A family doctor is more generalized, you still need to see the specialist.

Also, seriously 2 hours!! WTF?? I wouldn't wait that long, no way no how.

I had a 4 week checkup with DD, and the OB said that yes everything on the outside was healed, but to give it another 2 weeks for the inside to heal. It still hurt like A LOT.

There's 3 OBs and 116,000 people. It's the joys of living in a remote location, way the F in the North. We had no choice but to wait. It's the waiting that long and still risking the appointment being cancelled that had me going to my GP

We don't have an OB close by...an hour is the closest and even then your options are limited. I see a GP because that's our only option. With the being said...I LOVE my GP and should an OB move to town, I'd continue to see my GP for my future births/pregnancies.

I don't meet with her until 8 weeks pp. However at Hallie's 2 week I asked when I could exercise and she said whenever I felt up to it. Sex has been a no until .6 weeks.

This is not true. There are family docs who deliver babies and even some who do csections they have an additional year of training. Perhaps the OP's doc does not but don't imply this is true across the board. There are some great family docs out there and many of us who never see an OB during pregnancy.

2 hours is crazy! Really crazy!
If that's the only option you have, that sucks but I would wait. I'd go on DH's day off but bring him with for company! Haha. Goodluck!
