Hi I didn't have the verifi. But I had my nt scan show a strong nasal bone then my bloodwork came back 1:24. We saw a genetic counselor and opted for an amnio. LO is our first and we had an early bleeding scare so we just wanted to make sure he was ok. They explained the miscarriage risk,and while there is a chance the odds outweighed the chances for DS. We were very positive and I did research on how to prepare for a baby with DS just in case. The only complication with the amnio I had was a small amniotic fluid leak, I had to double up my water intake that day and stay in bed. By the evening the leak stopped and then the waiting game, we had opted for the two day results. But on the Saturday the genetic counselor called and said our results were inconclusive. Which freaked me out ,but she explained how sometimes the labs don't have enough of the child's cells separate from the mothers and the lab would cultivate more cells to give us a 100% answer so we would have to wait the 10 days. At my MFM appointment 10 days later we found out he is ok and no DS. My advise to you is to stay positive ,don't stress yourself out thinking of the odds. If it makes you feel better you do some research on what to expect, but if you feel this is too much don't do it either. Be positive and think of all the love you already have for your little one that won't change. My thoughts and prayers are going your way!
