anybody having issues with dizziness and fainting?

there's been 2 occasions where i've gotten really dizzy, started getting hot and I get light headed, and everything started to get bright. I had to sit down asap or else I felt like I was going to pass out. I also wanted to point out that this has happened when I was going out shopping, and on my feet for long periods of time.

is anybody else having issues similar to me? I'm thinking that it deals with high or low blood pressure. My blood pressure has been excellent every check-up; and i've never had issues with blood pressure; but it runs in my family. Could I be more prone to high blood pressure since i'm pregnant?

This is something that you sure want to tell your doctor about.  I've had some issues with dizziness, and my doc said it was because of increased blood flow.  I've never had a problem with my blood pressure, but now that I'm pregnant, it's been running just a little high at times, though it comes down if I lay down.

Are you drinking enough water?  Have you had your iron level checked?  My doctor said if my blood pressure was too high, I might see bright dots, and get a headache.  So keep an eye out for those signs as well.  GL!

Oh, just thought of this, if your blood sugar gets too low, it definitely could make you hot and dizzy and you could pass out.  Make sure you are eating often enough to avoid this.

It has been happening to me too.  The doctor said it is from increased blood flow and is very normal.  I would still mention it to your doctor.

I have had that happen a few times to me at work.  Like PP said, it's mainly from increased blood flow, but I stupidly didn't eat in a long span of time.

You know how ladies in old movies will faint, and upon waking it's revealed that they're pregnant? I had the same issue at the very beginning of my third trimester. It's just a temporary drop in your BP. Being in heat and humidity can make it worse. If you're otherwise healthy, there's no "treatment" necessary, just to deal with it in the middle by sitting or lying down. Drinking lots of water can also help.

Do mention it to your dr, but you probably needn't worry?

Both occasions have happened in the last few weeks; and i haven't had a chance to talk to my OB yet, but I definitely will. I was in Ulta today doing last minute shopping when I felt like I was going to faint. I had to run outside and sit down or I thought I would pass out. Very inconvenient; and its probably from a drop in BP, and probably not drinking anything for a few hours.

I am 18 weeks (tomorrow) and I have been going through the exact same thing! It happened to me once in the shower in my first tri and then once when I was shopping with my mother. The only thing that is different is that everything gets really dark for me, almost like I am blacking out.

I have yet to talk to my Doc. about it yet, but I plan on it when I see him soon. But I have asked a lot of people around me and they all said they went through the same thing when they were pregnant, just make sure to drink water and take breaks through out the day, being on your feet for a wile can be tiring.

Also they told me to make sure I alway carry a protein bar or something that I can quick snack on if I start feeling week.

Stay strong and good luck!!

Dizziness yes! I'm about 13 weeks now, and I've been having issues with it for a long time now, it started very early in my pregnancy. I have to be careful whenever I stand up, a lot of the time I have to wait for my vision to become normal again.

Ive been super dizzy most of this pregnancy, didn't happen at all in my first one.

It happens when I don't eat often enough.

It happens when i stand up too fast.

It happens worst if I'm standing in place for a long period of time.  twice it happened to me in a long line at the grocery store, once at starbucks.  Now I'm scared of long lines lol.

Sometimes I even black out for a sec, so I have to sit down right there.  It's no fun to be the weird lady who is sitting next to her shopping cart on the floor.

My doctor says when I'm standing a long time the blood pools in your feet and cause you to get dizzy, and possibly black out or faint.  I have low blood pressure sometimes, but that is very common for blood pressure to drop during pregnancy.

As long as you don't fall down and hurt yourself you should be fine.

This was happening to me as well. I called my Dr. about it, and she said that even slight dehydration can cause this. For me, when I increased my water intake, it pretty much stopped happening.

I would check with your doc too, but in the meantime it can't hurt to try drinking more water.

This happens to me even when I"m not pregnant. I would call your OB just to make sure you get checked out.

I had a test called a tilt table test and was diagnosed with neuro cardiogenic syncope. Basically, my brain and heart don't always communicate properly to pump the blood through my body. It's pretty easy to control with medication and making sure I sit a lot, and stay cool and hydrated.

NOT saying you have that, but just wanted to share the info.
