Illness this time of year...

Seriously...  Poor timing!!

BIL and SIL got into town from OR tonight.  Nephew #3 (N3) had the stomach virus on Wednesday, N2 started to throw up on Thursday AM; BIL starting throwing up Thursday PM.  They all still made the drive down here today.  SIL and N1 did not get sick... yet.

I don't want to take the kids to my IL's for Christmas...  DH doesn't want to either.

WWYD?

Illness trumps holidays in my book.  If there was any way I could avoid having to deal with my own kid being sick, I always go that way.  So I'd skip it.

Then again I told my sitter not to come this week and she felt okay but the kids she watched during the week had strep and bronchitis so I might be paranoid...

I hate when this happens. Chances of them still being contagious are pretty high. I think I would stay home with the kids.

Oh no!  I definitely would not go.   If they were just getting over a crappy cold, I'd suck it up and go, for the sake of seeing everyone for the holidays.  But a stomach virus - no way!  Those things are super contagious, you do not want that in household if you can help it.

There are various illnesses running rampant in our area right now, adults and kids alike are dropping like flies.  We have been sick for a week here.  We're grateful that we got it out of the way before Christmas, but very nervous about the possibility that our families will get sick in the next two days.  Fingers crossed for good health all around!

Is there any way Jay could go for an our or two and then you go for an hour or two? Keep the boys at home and wash your hands like crazy. They drove sick from OR. I think at the least you or Jay should go for a bit to visit and drop off gifts. But I would definitely keep the kids away and change clothes as soon as you/he get back home.

I hate vomit, so I wouldn't go around them. But, I did read that if you are exposed to a stomach virus but aren't feeling sick yet, you can beat it by drinking 100 grape juice. I would tell them you can visit at a different time.

For a cold I would risk it, but vomiting and little kids are the worst! I wouldn't go.

Don't risk it! DH and I had the stomach bug it was horrible! Throwing up, Pooping like the water flow and peeing while doing the other two was nightmare. Oh and dont forget running and caring for a toddler. Sorry if that was graphic but if I can save someone from the bug I will.

Yuck! I have a new rule about LO being exposed to sicklings. He's not allowed. I don't care about the circumstances. He always gets ear infections when he's sick. It doesn't seem worth it to risk. I agree with tuna... One of you go over drop off anything that needs to be dropped off and then immediately sanitize.
