Grace0609 and ebp913 re: Chicco Liteway (Plus)

After hours of wracking my brain, I found an old post regarding lightweight strollers, specifically the Cicco Liteway and the Plus version that comes out at the end of January. Tell me about your experiences with the Liteway. How is maneuverability? Does the size of the wheels concern you? Is it flat enough to put an infant in from the beginning? (I'm getting mixed information from websites.) Have either of you actually seen a Liteway Plus? It looks like the only major difference is the ability to use the carseat. An other thoughts?

Thanks, ladies!

I love my Chicco Liteway more than any of the other 4 strollers I own. It is extremely manueverible, and I am not sure what you are exactly concerned about with the size of the wheels? The wheels seem to be a great size to me? I have had ours for 3 years now and it is still going strong. It reclines completely flat and has a little fabric "boot" thing that unfolds from under the seat to flip up and make it into a bassinet looking thing when it is flat. It is also a relatively cheap stroller at like 150...for me you cant beat that. The fold on it is the easiest of any of my strollers, and it is lighter than any of my other strollers, while still being sturdy. The only complaint I have ever had about it is that the sunshade is not very big. But that is easily remedied by some of the sunshades they sell that you could attach yourself. It has never been important enough for me to actually do anything about.

I have never actually seen a Plus up close. But if this wasnt our last child I would definitely be checking it out! As long as they havent screwed up the lightweightnesd of the stroller, it looks like a perfect solution to needing a snap n go for the first few months. I like the ease of being able to leave baby in the carseat for short trips in and out of places early on, so I need a carseat attatchment and use a snap n go frame.

Thanks, Grace! I went and looked at it in person yesterday, and I think I'm sold. :-)As long as the new one really does have full recline. I'm having a June baby, so I won't the convenience  of the car seat adapter, but I also want to just use the stroller if it gets too hot. The wheels do look small in the video, but I was pleasantly pleased with them in the store. Thanks again!

So, I just found another video demonstrating the Liteway Plus:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypPUC_NPjEY

I don't think it looks like it reclines all the way.  It looks like about a 3/4 recline when not using the car seat.

Personally, that would not matter to me, b/c I always use the carseat in the snap n go until about 4-5 months anyway, and by that time, the baby would be fine only partially reclining.  But, if that is a deal breaker for you, from what I can tell, the Plus cannot recline all the way flat like the original Liteway can.

Thanks for sharing that...you're right, it does look like it doesn't fully recline. I guess I'll just have to wait another month and see it in person to be sure. After nannying my niece when she was 6 weeks to 3 months, I get the convenience factor of the car seat, but I actually loathe them. I definitely would prefer a stroller that can do it all, and might need to keep looking around. These are both definitely ones to keep in mind, though.

I haven't actually tried out the Liteway or Liteway Plus myself.  I am just waiting for the Plus to come out to BRU so I can go check it out.  For me, the convenience of having the snap n go option and a lightweight stroller in 1 is what I am so excited about.  It seems like a good fit for our family with a new baby on the way and #2 wanting to walk a lot.

I also found out that Cybex strollers accept a car seat so that's another option I am considering.  However, I really like that I can just click the carseat in on the Plus vs attaching it with a strap.  I'm a sucker for convenience.  I also really like the Valco Snap so it's another you may want to look into.  They are all lightweight strollers that work with a car seat and I believe the Valco and Cybex are suitable from birth but don't quote me on that!
