How have you given prune juice for constipation?...or other solutions appreciated:)

My lo is constipated....he's miserable!  He strained all night And this morning had just a little firm piece coming out. I got prune juice and gave him some but am wondering how others did this (amount, dilluted?) Or did you use something else? It's our first bout of if as we have given solids and some formula so poor little man is struggling! Please share what you did!

I mixed 1 oz pear juice in a bottle of his and he went within an hour of eating it. It was a pretty intense poo, so be prepared for that, but it works! Hope your lo feels relief soon!

Pedi told us 1 oz prune juice and one ounce water. Be prepared for an explosion lol!

We gave our girl Prunes and Pears, gave her warm baths and massages and she still didn't go...just little bits.  So we finally had to take her to the doctor and he gave her a prescription for suppositories.  He also said that if there is too much in the system then the prunes will only affect what is on top - not the stuff that is stuck.  Hopefully prunes will work for you and he can get it out though.

Thanks all! Did the diluted 1oz combo 2x and we have poop, and more poop and more poop! Ha he went 3x and it finally was his normal consistancy! Thanks! He's much more comfortable!

Hi, my son was constipated when we switched his formula from Neosure to Similac Advanced & my pediatrician said to mix 1 ounce of Pear Juice itch 1 ounce of water. It worked!! We also tried suppositories which worked, but I hate using them!! Hope he feels better soon :-)
