Passport for adopted LO

Probably a dumb question, but if your LO's name was changed with the adoption, did you put their birth name on the passport form under the "alias" section?

I didn't. Since the birth certificate changed, as well as SS info and everything else, I just left the birth name as a thing of the past. I was adopted at age 4/5 and haven't since used my birth name. I consider the alias section for maiden names and things like that.

We didn't

Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Expecting again after IVF and recently adopted a teenage boy who we couldn't love more. God is good! Lilypie Kids Birthday tickers Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

I don't think you need to as it's totally changed and the old record is sealed. You could call the agency or lawyer to double check I suppose

I did not.  It's also not listed on their certificates of citizenship, and those are prepared by DHS, who has all the information and left it off, so I figured that was the standard to follow.

Aliases are used to track identities so they can ensure public safety.  I think any government official would be hard-pressed to make a case that your young daughter could possibly have a past worth keeping tabs on in those terms.

IDK, Charlotte has made a lot of mayhem in her time lol. Though more a matter of personal safety than public safety.

Thanks, guys. This is what I was thinking, too. But between my having legally changed my first and middle names when I was 18 and having been married twice, I had quite the alias section to fill out lol.
