Some assembly required...

toys can kiss my @ss!!

I just got the little girls Santa gifts unpackaged and put together.  TG Tay's was a one piece thing.  F! Dylan's was horrible.  Stocking items are separated, gifts are assembled.

We are with extended fam on Christmas eve, get home late and go to bed.  DH is working nights, so I have learned my lessons that you do not try to do this shhit late at night, tired and cranky.  There may or may not have been many tears the year Tay was born trying to assemble a F-ing toy kitchen while DH worked and I had a fussy newborn.

Oh my H feels your pain. There were a lot of very bad words uttered the night he assembled the play kitchen the boys got for Christmas. Like I had to close the play room door before I peed myself laughing. It's a good thing DS1's bike came fully assembled or we probably would have had a repeat of "the kitchen incident".

I am afraid that we will be in the same boat on Christmas Eve.  We don't have anywhere to hide the big toys until Christmas morning so we will be assembling the train table the night before.

I really don't mind the assembly part (though I had a terrible time with DD1s scooter last year for some very strange reason).  I loathe the removing from the packaging.  It's inevitable that one of my girls will get something from some family member, bring it to me to 'open it, open it' and by the time I find tools to actually get it out of the package and remove all the little twist ties, etc, the kids will have moved on to playing with something else.  I might just carry my heavy duty kitchen scissors with me to every family gathering this year...
