Post Pregnancy Hormones

Any new moms feeling like they want to cry all the time? I feel like this even more than when I was pregnant. I think a good portion of it is due to being depressed about my milk not coming in and holiday drama from my mom. Sometimes I just want to sit and cry for a while....anyone else?

Oh most definitely! I had no mood swings during pregnancy and now I can't stop crying. I feel crazy! It's worse at night. I am praying the hormones level off soon.

You are not alone. You just had a baby so your hormones are going to be all over the place for a little bit longer so if u feel like crying let it out.

I cried yesterday bc I have hemorrhoids that don't seem like they are going anywhere anytime soon and bc I sent my SO to Target with a list yet he still managed to not only come home w the wrong items but he actually forgot a few things O_o

If you truly feel sad or are having issues please speak with someone you trust and can be supportive. You don't have to go thru this alone and there is nothing wrong with asking for help if you feel overwhelmed.

Totally normal to feel sadness, anger, overwhelmed, extreme joy, even jealousy during the first two weeks PP.

However, if it longer than two weeks, you could have PPD or PPA. Looking back on it, I completely think I had PPA after my first. I wish I would have gotten help for it, b/c it didn't go away until I quit breastfeeding! GL

Yes.... pp hormones are no joke.  They should last 2 weeks or so and if they last longer please call your doctor!  I have dealt with them after both pregnancies.  Big hugs!

I have been very emotional as well. Just gave birth a week ago. I cry over everything now, or at least get choked up. I get upset because of pain of stitches, stretch marks, belly that still looks kind of pregnant but kind of just fat, and especially when staring at my son and he makes a little smile or I start thinking about how happy I am he is healthy and safe and how adorable he is and a miracle, ect, I cry at everything.

Lurker here...I had my baby on 12/12, and when we were sent home I found it incredibly overwhelming. I cried a lot and it seemed like for no reason. It was pretty tough being so weepy all of the time, but it does pass. I am feeling much better now almost 2 weeks later. It does help that my husband has been so supportive and helpful. Good luck, it will pass!

Oh also, I cried at Target about buying cheap ugly underwear to wear pp. My husband just stood there and rubbed my back and let me cry, which I absolutely needed.

I'm getting choked up reading this! I'm the exact same way. Last night around 3am he had hiccups for almost an hour. I started bawling my eyes out because I felt so bad for him! My cats even made me cry because we had to kick them out of the bedroom since LO sleeps in there with us they always look so damn sad!
