activities

Now that Emily is on the move I feel like we are always doing the same activities. I am home for Christmas break from work for 2 weeks... I need new activities to keep us both busy that wont break the bank.

I love doing things with her but if it is something to keep her busy while I wrap presents or get some things done...that would be great too.

What are you and your LOs doing these days to stay busy?

we have been playing alot of "Im going to get you" where I chase her around the house, she has been "helping" with cleaning and baking and with laundry, we spent awhile learning the light switch earlier.....I am running out of ideas, help.

I found this site a few days ago with easy to play, age-appropriate games to play. Maybe it could help??

I subscribe to the weekly mailing list from Productive Parenting. There are a ton of age appropriate activities in this site.

Honestly, Cody's favorite activity right now is playing alone. He's beginning to demand it. He has free reign of most of the house, with toys in most rooms, and he moves from one stack of toys to the next. I stay close by and he will come to check on me every once in a while to chat about what he's been up to and play with me a bit before he heads off on his own again. He does this for an hour at a time, 2 to 3 times a day.

I cannot tell you how jealous I am of this. We are having the exact opposite issue- she WILL NOT play by herself. If she plays by herself for 15 minutes total out of the whole day, that's a great day. She becomes hysterical (screaming with all her might, tears streaming, has taken 15 minutes to calm her down sometimes after only leaving her "alone" on the floor for under 5 minutes with me in the same room) within minutes or sometimes seconds if I am not right beside her on the floor or holding her, and it's making me completely crazy. Sorry, vent.
