I think I figured it out

For the last couple of weeks, ds has insisted to get in bed with us to go to sleep. I would follow our normal routine and get him ready to go down to bed at 8:45 like normal, and he would scream and cry, and say he wanted to go with me. So, I gave in and let him sleep in our bed for several nights. Tonight, since I don't have to go to work, I let him take the lead for bed time, to just see when he would naturally lay down from being tired, and he didn't really start getting sleepy, naturally, until around 9:30. He went right to sleep in his bed, no fussing and no begging to get in bed with us. I think I am going to just push bedtime back for our sanity. What do you ladies think? He is still taking about a 2 hour nap during the middle of the day.

If you think he's getting enough sleep, go with it! Logan still goes to bed at 7:30, but he usually is quite ready and willing to get into his crib at that time. And we get up pretty early for work (6:30).

Normally, we have to be up by 6 and out the door by 7.  I get up at 5 ish, but I get ready before I get ds up and dressed. He takes a bath at night, so, I usually do a quick wash up and then just put on his clothes and give him breakfast. He doesn't fight to get up, but he often still gets up in the wee hours of the morning. I think the later time will help with that too.  I will try it this week while I am off, and see how it goes.

That sounds like Liam's routine. He doesn't go to bed until 9:30 or so. He sleeps in until at least 8 most mornings, which is really nice. DH doesn't get home from work until after 6, so that gives DS and DH plenty of time to spend together and DH can help me with Liam.

If it works for you, go for it.  Peyton goes to bed by 730 but is often up still reading in her room until 830 or so.  If I put her down at 830, she'd probably stay up until 930 anyways.  So whatever works for you and him, do it!  :)

I would try it.  DS naps every other day (ish) and the days he naps he doesn't fall asleep until 9 or so.  The days he doesn't nap he is asleep at 7.
