orajel?

I posted this on the fb page as well, but figured I would here too. It might be a stupid question, idk.. but is it ok to use Orajel? My teeth and gums hurt so bad lately. I need to get to the dentist. Plus my wisdom tooth is killing me and I can't do anything about it, because I'm sure there's no way they'll pull it while I'm pregnant. Grrr!

I'd call your OB or pharmacist. Take a Tylenol in the meantime, since you know that's safe.

If you have an infection and or have a great deal of pain, you are able to be treated by a dentist; your OB would give you clearance.  Unless you have any physical restrictions you are also able to see a dentist to get your teeth cleaned; this would help your gums.  Brush 2x a day, use mouth wash and floss at night before you go to bed. If your wisdom tooth is partially exposed, rinse your mouth after eating to dislodge any food debris that may be stuck. If you need pain relief, take Tylenol.  Hope you feel better.

Oh holy cow!  I had no idea.  Although I have to admit I'm glad it didn't come out to stop using it on kids until this year-I was thinking I totally missed something by giving it to my daughter a few years ago!  At least I can console myself a bit that it hadn't been recommended against while I was using it.  :)

I used it, my OB and dentist said it was fine. I need to get my wisdom tooth extracted but have to wait untill after LO is out, so I was stuck with tylenol, orajel and penecillan (sp?) for the infection. I would call your OB and ask if you are worried.
