Lanolizing wool ?s

Ok, so I use fitteds at night with a kissa wool cover or a bummies sww. I'd prefer to use the wool more but it seems I just cannot get the lanolizing right.

Does it matter which side is facing out when you soak to lanolize it? I generally turn the cover so that the seamless side is against LO's skin.

Also, I just seem to be doing something wrong as the cover is usually soaked through, to the point where a pee spot forms on the cover and I have to wash it after only a few uses.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hm. Is your fitted soaked through? You may need to up the absorbancy.
I lanolize inside out bc I like my wool a bit sticky on the inside. Then I turn it right side out before I squeeze the water out w a towel. I also wait til it's dry and take some lanolin, rub it in my hands, then work it into the wet zone. This has made the biggest difference for us.

Sounds like you need to add absorbency. Also, how much lanolin are you using when you lanolize? We are really generous with it--as in like...almost a tablespoon of lanolin.

When I lanolize I always lanolize the covers inside out. That way the most lanolin is on the inside where it is needed more. I am also generous with the lanolin too. I have seen a lot of instructions say to use a pea sized amount, I think that is too little.

Thanks, ladies! Yes, I'm waiting for extra absorbency (hemp inserts) to arrive! And I agree--all of the instructions seem to call for such a small amount of lanolin. It definitely seems like more is necessary. I like the little sprout videos--better than the one on GMD.
