Christmas eve randoms

We have nothing going on today and it makes me sad! We should have something to do on Christmas eve, right? We already celebrated with my family, and H's family is tomorrow.

I kinda miss KateMW's snark, this surprises me. :o)

Hadley is napping right now and it makes me feel like I won the lottery.

I need to get my butt downstairs to run on the treadmill.  After I run I need to shower & wash my hair so it can dry while the girls help make the Cinnamon rolls.  I am also manning the smoker, which means looking at the temp and I just added more wood chips.  After that, we are taking the turkey that is in the smoker to MIL's where we will have another big Christmas.

Oh and I learned I was out of sugar this morning.  WTF?!

When I was younger we didn't do anything on Christmas eve. We would play with the neighborhood friends, eat something good for dinner and then my parents would put the TV in the living room from the den and we would watch Christmas movies by the Christmas tree with the fire place going. And my mom would read us Christmas books. I like it a lot. There was so much excitement for Christmas morning!
Now we go to Dh side and we are to busy to be excited lol. Its still fun tho.
Today I am going to the gym, I have to go to Marshall's quick after that, then we will decorate surgar cookies with LO and then off to the il!

Here is another one.  DH is working nights.  When he is on nights, I only can do laundry from 4-8 pm because the laundry is in the hall near the bedrooms.  Well, I always do laundry every other day and I should do it this afternoon.  Well, that won't happen because we will be at MIL's doing the Christmas thing.  So...  unless I do it tomorrow night, it is going to super pile up and start to stink.  (Mine & DH's running clothes, dishrags, etc)  I hate to see dirty laundry piling up.

DS1 lost a tooth yesterday. We put his tooth under his pillow and he was so excited about getting a dollar from the tooth fairy....and then I forgot his dollar. It took sone fancy maneuvering to fix the problem this morning but now he has his money and he's happy.

My MIL is pissed at my six year old for not getting dressed when she told her too and is therefore stomping around the house ignoring everyone. She has yet to speak to me this morning. We are going to lunch at my favorite resturant for my birthday and I am seriously thinking of drowning myself in margaritas at 11:00 am.

My parents called to wish me happy birthday and I cried on the phone. All I want is to be with MY family so I bawled like a baby.

I need to make my sauce and prep my french toast bake. But all I really want to do is sit here and drink coffee LOL 

We are supposed to be going to the zoo for a Christmas Eve party but the weather is looking iffy. Hopefully the sun burns it all off by 9?

I have been going non-stop for the last 3 days, so I am so glad we have nothing except for church at 5pm. DD1 and I are watching White Christmas while we paint our toes and DH and DD2 nap. 

I have to make cinnamon rolls in a bit and get a load of laundry done. Then pack up to go to my parent's house tomorrow AM after we open gifts here. DH and I have to do some wrapping tonight, too.

 The upside is that the house is back to normal after our party yesterday and we have tons of leftovers, so no cooking!

I took the kids to the liquor store with me this morning to get DH's last gift.  Not only was I the woman who brings her kids into a liquor store, but DD kept asking "I get a present from here?"  At least all the other people in there got a good laugh.

 I cannot wait for Christmas, so maybe my kids will sleep again.  DS was up at 2 wanting to play and DD was up at 4:30.  I feel like our snowman (it was laying on its side in our yard this morning).

That's too funny! I took Hadley into the liquor store once to buy Brandy for cooking, and they wouldn't let me bring her in (she was about 3 months old I think) and I poked my head back in and said "but it's only Brandy for cooking!" thinking Virginia would change the rules if they knew that I wasn't going to be drinking anything, just cooking. :o/

I hate taking the kids to the liquor store w/ me. However, it's right next to Trader Joe's so it's not like I'm going to make two separate trips. 

They have mini carts that you can't put kids in. So I have to baby wearing or carry DD2 and DD1 has to hold the cart the entire time. They glare at me and have suggested I go out once my husband was home.  

Don't they realize that parents with small children are their biggest market!?!

So funny about the liquor store. Where I live (Manhattan) everyone is always out and about walking around with strollers. DS goes with me to the liquor store whenever we need something. I never think twice about it and I've never gotten any strange looks there.

I sat down on his bed and slid the dollar under his pillow all stealth like while telling him it had to be around here somewhere. Then I told him to look again, and he was completely dumbfounded that there was a dollar where there wasn't one a minute ago.

We are going to the in laws later and I can't wait! We missed Christmas last year because we all had a horrendous stomach bug. They go all out and it's awesome. I'm prepping my breakfast casserole now.

DH is at work until 4. Then we go to his parents for a big dinner with all his family. They serve a traditional Norweigan Christmas dinner. A lamb has been hanging in my inlaws garage for months now. This dinner is so traditionally they salt cure the meat because you know, in the olden days they had no refrigeration. Needless to say I am bringing my own ham lol!

Some friends came over yesterday and brought pizza. Hawaiian Style. Yuck, my least favorite.  More friends and family came over today and decided to order pizza. I asked for supreme and got outvoted for Hawaiian style.

I don't even like pizza but we went to a bday party a few weeks ago and had supreme pizza and ever since it's like the best thing ever.  I texted DH my annoyance and he said, "tell them pregnant woman on bed rest trumps everyone else." So I took that to mean I could order myself my own damn pizza for dinner and finally get what I want.

DH had to work tonight, but I informed him that he had to get the bike out of the shed and in the house before Christmas eve so all I had to do was put it out.  He hid it in our master closet.  I think I am getting high from the smell of the rubber.
