New to Charting, Questions

This is my first month charting. I have had cycles for 6 months now postpartum and they have been irregular so I was wondering if my chart could help me know when to expect AF? Am I wrong to expect it some time around 14 DPO? I read somewhere that the length of your cycle had to do with the length of time before O and that after was relatively the same for each person ranging from 12-16 days. Is that when it comes for most of you or is this another one of those "every woman is different" things? Also, do your temps do anything different before AF comes? Sorry if this is the wrong board for this question.

The average luteal phase (the time between O and your period) is 12-16 days, but for some people it's shorter or longer. Also, there was a post the other day asking if people's LP were the same length every cycle and for some people it's pretty consistent, and for others it's not.

As far as what your temps do, you can probably expect a temp drop around the time when your period is going to show up.

Cautiously excited...

I have had cycles for 6 months now postpartum and they have been irregular so I was wondering if my chart could help me know when to expect AF?   Yes.  Especially once you've been charting for awhile, it can give you a clearer picture of what to expect from your cycle.

Am I wrong to expect it some time around 14 DPO? No.

I read somewhere that the length of your cycle had to do with the length of time before O and that after was relatively the same for each person ranging from 12-16 days. Is that when it comes for most of you or is this another one of those "every woman is different" things?  Yes.  The "normal" LP window is 12-16 days.  However, most women have their own normal.  Most of my LPs are between 13-14 days.

Also, do your temps do anything different before AF comes? Most see a temp dip the day of, or the day before, AFs arrival.  Personally my temp drops only slightly.  Others see a significant temp drop.

Hope this helps.  Best of luck!
