This is totally weird right?

DH and I took LO to bass pro shop to meet Santa. As we were leaving I went in the restroom to change El and while I was getting ready to change him this woman can up and started talking to him. I hate when people do that because I don't like to change him in front of family let alone strangers. She kind of backed off a bit and I got the wipes and a diaper out and opened his dirty diaper. Then there she was over my shoulder again and she goes, "oh honey can I finish changing him?"

....

I was like, "uh...no I got it." and she says, "you sure?"

Yes lady, I'm sure. What the hell is wrong with people? She stayed the whole time then held the door open for me and DH was waitin outside. We hightailed it outta there. She freaked me out. So weird!

I'm uncomfortable with it mostly because I don't want him to be uncomfortable about it later. Maybe it's odd of me. Lol! Totally makes sense, just never ever heard of anyone thinking this way and found it fascinating... no judging at all (even though it probably sounded like I was). 

Wanna know something weird/twisted? My mom was only 19 when she had me. My H is 9 years older than I am, meaning my mom is 9 years older than my H. When she was 11 she babysat him (small, small town & her sister married my H's uncle) and changed his diaper... therefore, my mom saw my H's privates before I did. :o/

You know what's really weird? I just had the same thing happen to me yesterday! Was changing my son in a rest stop bathroom and an older woman was next to me washing her hands. She says "oh, he's a cutie. Do you need help? I just washed my hands. I could do that for you".

Seriously? I said "I'm his mother. I've got this. But thanks anyway"

I never cared about changing DS in front of anyone, but now that he has a little personality and is like this whole little person and less like blob, I feel more like he wouldn't appreciate me just showing everyone his body. But then he rolls away from me, naked and laughing, hamming it up, so I guess he doesn't care but I'm now thinking "Oh B, have you no shame?!" Hahaha!

That is so crazy and bizarre. I am the same way about changing DD, so you aren't the only one. I don't find it that odd. Odd is wanting to change a stranger's baby, and crazy is offering too!

My girls are no longer in diapers.  But if they're wearing dresses in church, it is my job to teach them that is not ok to flash their undies to the old man (however kind!) in front of us.  If there is an option, I'm a bit lost as to why someone wouldn't choose to keep their baby's privates private.

 Grandma is different than a crowded room at someone's house for a party or in the middle of the mall or an outdoor event.  All of which I've seen.

Yes, that is a good point. I never just ripped Jack's pants off in public, but I remember doing a quick little change on the couch at my parents' house while we were visiting.
