Is DD hungry or just tired?

DD has been acting so strange while nursing. At the beginning of the feeding, everything is great. She will stop eating after a normal amount of time and we'll do an activity like tummy time. Then she will act like she is starving, hands in mouth, head bopping on my chest, acting like she is going to chew off my shoulder or even my stomach this was new last night. So I offer the breast and she either refuses, or after a short period of time pop off, or latch but suck softly or not at all.

This almost ways happens after about an hour or so of being awake and almost always if I lay her down she will fall asleep. Is she really hungry? Or just tired? I don't want to put her to sleep if she really is hungry but I can't figure her out! Does your LO ever do this?

My LO does something like that when he's gassy. Maybe try bicycle legs?

My LO does this too--usually when he's also gassy, but I've noticed that I often mistake his "I'm tired" cues for "i'm hungry" cues. When I swaddle him, turn off the lights in his room, and start to rock him, he's usually able to drift to sleep--or sometimes I'll nurse him, but he'll nurse for MAYBE 30 sec and then be out. It doesn't sound like your LO is hungry so I wouldn't worry that you're starving her or anything!

I'd try gas drops and see if that helps. Since this behavior happens after eating, I would think they would help. Good luck!
