So pissed!

I busted my butt to pump and Freeze all this effing breastmilk and its all now rotten. Eff you excess lipase!!!!! I'm so freaking pissed right now. I just took out 5 different bags from different points and they're ALL bad. My milk starts turning within 24 hours and ill have to scald all of it now.

Only problem ill have to pump like a mad woman to get the slightly over supply I did to make everything.

I just want to sit in the corner and cry...

I haven't even considered this as a possibility! But I live in fear of someone leaving our freezer door open and ruining what little stash I have (we have had a lot of visitors since LO was born)...so I understand!! So sorry :-(

Yeah, I thought as long you went by the 5 hours out of the fridge, 5 days in the fridge and 5 months in the freezer you were good. What does bad milk smell like?/

That really sucks. 

Are you sure lo wont eat it?  I read that its not "bad" per se.  You might try and mix it with fresh or scalded milk and see if lo will take it.

I don't think it smells bad it just tastes terrible.

Sorry was out at a SUPER late family Christmas event and just now getting back to the computer.

I know its not rotten but LO will NOT drink it at all. I tasted it and it was so gross like make me puke gross. The smell was off but not horrible. Ive started scalding my freshly pumped milk in hopes that will save it. But, yes usually you can follow the 555 rule but unfortunately I have excess lipase. At lteast Im pretty sure I do considering I tasted and checked 5 different frozen bm bags from when LO was first born til now and theyre all gross with the oldest one being just absolutely rancid.

LO wont drink it but apparently I can donate it still or make teething cookies. But, Im bummed because thats 350oz of really hard work down the drain :(

Fresh tastes kind of sweet but no real flavor IMO. But frozen old and 3 day old fridge milk tasted like vomit. Like you drank some of LOs spit up. It was just gross. Some people say soapy or metallic but mine was pukey with maybe some metallic. After I had tasted it, it smelled similar. I guess the lipase breaks it down and starts "digesting" it. Because thats the enzyme that helps babies break down the milk.

Mine smelt awful after I thawed a bag. I tried thawing it two different ways, in the fridge overnight and in the sink in warm water, and it still smelt bad!
