BeachMama7693:sounds like her latch may need some work. i had inverted nipples as well and had great luck with a nipple shield. it draws your nipple out permanently and lo can latch much better. as far as healing the cracks, i would go bra free as much as possible!
This. See a LC to get the latch corrected as quickly as possible. Just because it looks great doesn't mean it is. LO could have a tongue tie or other issue.
To heal the nips expressed milk, Earth Mama Angel Baby nipple cream, Lansinoh soothies, and using re-useable breathable breast pads all helped me immensly.
