I think dr is so Wrong!

We had LO on nutramigen and he kept getting rashy and swelling. I took it upon myself to find a formula with no DHA/ARA. He did well on it, for a month. Then we went to actual allergist and they said he was allergic to milk, eggs, wheat, soy and peanuts. LO is almost 5 months.  So, fine, we switched off of  the natures one dairy based wit no DHA or ARA. And on to similac alimentum. After 6 days, he has the symptoms all over again! My gut tells me this isn't working..... Went to reg pedi today and tried to explain it, but he brushed it off. So frustrated!  Feel like I'm giving him poison and of course it's Xmas week, so not too many dr.s open.   Any thoughts?

I don't have much experience with the allergies, but switching formulas frequently and often can cause a lot of tummy trouble. I know they say to give Lo 2 weeks on a type before switching.

I'm not too much help...just wanted to know how the allergist determined he was allergic to those things? I've asked DS's GI doctor about going to an allergist but she said while we could go, they won't do the skin test on him til he's like 2 years old.

They did the skin prick test on him. 5 groups of 6. Poor baby. First group , milk, egg, wheat, soy and peanuts all reacted. Everything else was clear. They didn't even blink when I said he was 4 and a half months.

His face was blowing up like will smith in Hitch after a week on formula nutramigen LIPIL.  So, I wasn't going to give that two weeks.  We stuck with the natures one dairy for a month and he did beautifully. Now dr says, no. He's allergic to milk. Now on similac alimentum and he gets hives all over his face with every bottle..but since no one is giving me answers, Im supposed to stick it out for a few more weeks? I have a huge fear his lungs aren't going to be able to take it much longer.  So frustrated with a one size fits all diagnosis.   Thanks for the reply though.

Switch dr! Parents instinct should be trusted first. If he was working on one formula then stick with it. If not then try another even if it has not been 2 weeks cuz you know if is working or not. My son was having terrible gas from similac sensative. When we took him to the Dr they called him colic and basically told us to go home and deal. I went to the store and started my expieriment of formulas. Found he was almost 100 cured on enfamil gentle. I knew within the first day if the formula was working. Went to the Dr and he agreed that we were on the right track. Dr put him on nitrimagen. Now he is like a new baby. So listen to yourself then find a Dr who will trust you as well
