Discharge (TMI)

So the past few days I've been having strange discharge when I wipe. It's never really in my underwear.  The only way I can describe it is, it looks like snot (gross, I know), and has a slight white/yellowish tint.  I've been looking into it and have read that your mucous plug can look this way. 

Is this just regular discharge, or could I be losing my mucous plug already?

I never lost my plug with DD1, but I think it's more solid and chunky.  From experience, the amount and variety of discharge down there can change a lot during pregnancy.  I've noticed more recently and I doubt it's the actual plug.  I don't think you have anything to worry about, but you can always call your dr if you're really concerned.

You have a lot of discharge when you are pregnant, that is for sure.  I wouldn't worry.  Even if it is your mucous plug, you can start losing that way before you go in to labor or your water breaks.

I called my OB about something similar last week (color had changed to more yellowish) and they wanted to see me to rule out infection. Turned out I had a minor yeast infection. It might be worth a call when your OB's office opens back up.

I had the flu not that long ago, so I actually have an appointment tomorrow. I'm definitely going to mention it.

It could be your mucous plug. That's what I've been having every few days. I have never lost my mucous plug in one chunk, mine always comes out a little at a time over weeks. I'm almost 35 weeks and had it twice last week and once today, I had my cervix checked last week at my appt. (I have a history of dilating early anyway) and she said I was 2cm. I'll probably get checked again on Jan. 4th at my next appt. But I don't think it's really a big deal, but you could mention it to your dr. just in case.
