What are your parents called?

What are your parents called?

Both my IL's and my parents want to be called grandma and grandpa. This seems incredibly lame to me and I am going to try to make my parents switch to something more creative. Give me some ideas!! TIA!

FIL likes to go by Poppy. 

Is anyone even kinda foreign? I think Grandpa and Grandpa in Spanish, German, French is very sweet. (I'm sure it's very cute in other languages too, I just don't know them.) I think Nana and Papa are cute.

My mom goes by NG for not grandma because she says she's not old enough to be grandma.

We got Grammy for my MIL. Oupa for my dad. Those are the only unique ones. The rest are Grandma and Grandpa.

Nothing too unique...We use GG for her great grandmom but other than that mom mom and pop pop for the grandparents. We add a letter at the end to distinguish which grandparent it is like my mothers name is Linda so mom mom L.

My parents are grandma and grandpa, but DH's stepmom wanted to be caked Nana. I have a hard time calling FIL grandpa, I'm thinking about phasing in papa.

Keep in mind your baby might change it when s/he learns to talk.  My sister couldn't say grandma so we called her Meemy (though I'm not sure why the other stayed grandma).  

My mom is Meemy, dad is Grandpaps (I call him Paps).  FIL and SMIL are grandma and grandpa.  MIL and SFIL are unnamed as of yet.  She is calling herself Nana Barbi and her husband Papa Steve, but it makes me insanely stabby every single time I hear it.  If we must, we'll call her Nana, though my husband isn't crazy about this since his grandmother was Nana and he doesn't want his mom to take on the name.

Ds1 named them for the most part. My niece who is almost a year older provided influence for my parents. Its Grandma and Papa for my parents and Grandma and Grandpa for dh's parents.

My mom and stepdad are Nana and Grandpa and my dad and stepmom are Grandad and Bobba Jo. My IL's are Grandma and Grandpa. Growing up... My brother and I called my grandparents Nana and Gaga.

Well you have hit the motherload with us. Here goes...

My Mom is called Mookie. She and my step dad used to be Trekkies and one of the alien groups called their parental aliens Mookie. It stuck.

My step dad is Pookie because it sounds really cute with Mookie.

My MiL is called Millie. I have always called her Mil which obviously stand for mother in law so we just converted it to Millie. My FiL is called Poppy

MIL has 3 other grandkids who all call her momma

My ILs are Grandma And grandpa Felo.

my parents are Babi (my mom) and Tata (my dad)... No way in hell is my son calling my day's gf by anything other than her first name, even if they get married (he called her grandma to LO and got the wrath from all 4 daughters)

he is calling my grandmas "otra Babi" (other Babi for my mom's mom) and Babi nancy for my dad's... And Tata Leon for my dad's, but it's very unlikely that he'll ever meet him since he is in an assisted living facility.

My dad is pop pop and his GF/FI despite wanting to be called meme is just Anne. I already have a Meme and who knows how long she'll be around?! 

My mom and stepdad are Grandma and Grandpa

DH's dad is grandpa

We are taking her to meet MIL and her husband on Friday so I guess we'll pick then :)

 

P.S I have a TON of grandparents since both my parents are divorced and remarried so I had a: Geegee, Papa, Nana, Momo, Meme, Papaw, Memaw, Granny, Popo, and Grandma and Grandpa,

My mom is called Wally, my niece started it, my dad is papa or sometimes grumpy, my grandparents are nana and papA to grand kids and great grand kids. DH parents are Grammy and grandpa.

Both sets of our parents are divorced so LO has 4 grandmas and 2 grandpas.

All but one grandma wants to be called Nana, 4th wants to be called grandma or let LO decide.

We have a grandpa and a bopa for the dads.
