Same here. Drink lots of water, apple juice, and try a stool softener.

Oh no! 9 days Tongue Tied maybe call the dr to have a nurse suggest something until you go in?

I  noticed before I knew I was pregnant I was constip. and then when I took my test and started the prenatal vitamins it got worse. I have been drinking that smart plum juice which is supposed to have same effects of prune juice but a better taste. I have been able to go daily but I have abdominal pain for about 2 hours before I am actually ready to go.

You can also try prune juice.

After 9 days I would definitely call my Dr.

I was horribly constipated my entire pregnancy with DS. I ate a few prunes a day and took Miralax every day, which was ok'd by my OB.

Lots of water, fiber, and off brand Colace got things back in track for me. This was actually my first pg symptom so I feel you. But after nine days contact your doctor!

I tried all kinds of fiber and water and no luck so I resorted to milk of magnesia (on my approved list). It worked but didn't give me the opposite problem, which was good. Take it at night and in the AM it should help. It is kinda nasty tasting, think liquid chalk. I might try prune or plum juice bc that seems more natural moving forward

Yikes! I'm so sorry, that would be very unpleasant.

I made a conscious effort to eat a yogurt or drink "kefir" during my last pregnancy because I got constipated early on. Never underestimate the power of probiotics. If you are already getting plenty of fiber, you may need some probiotics in your tummy to help your tummy out.

I also did a teaspoon of metamucil in an 10 ounce glass of water for the first 2 - 3 days to... um... get things moving...

Both were based on my OB's recommendation. I hope everything gets better soon.

Yikes!! Sorry about that!!

You should really start a prenatal ASAP though; you can get them over the counter

I'm also very constipated. My OB suggested some of these medications which are safe to take during pregnancy. They are over the counter meds: Metamucil, Cetrucel, Colace or
Miralax. I think I'll go with Colace as many ladies have suggested that.

Please get on prenatal vitamins at the earliest. They are your baby's best friend. Check with your OB which would be best for you both. Make sure your prenatal has all the vitamins, minerals, folic acid, calcium etc. I wouldn't suggest over the counter prenatal vit. Take care!
