Petunia Pickle vs Coach Diaper Bag

I received both as a Christmas gift but i'm not going to keep both...any pros or cons to either...I'm leaning towards coach because my DH bought me a matching wallet and I like that it looks like an over sized purse vs a diaper bag....any thoughts?

I'm not really a fan of PPB, so I'd for sure go for the Coach.  My diaper bag really did become a second purse for me, so I was glad to have something that looked like a purse (I have the Skip Hop Studio).  You'll carry this every day for 1 year + so definitely go with the one that you like the best.

My mom got me the Coach Diaper bag.  It's huge and has so many pockets for all of the baby's things, and when She does not need a diaper bag Mommy will have a new purse.

I have a Coach and love it.  Though, I'm going to have to get a different diaper bag with this next baby.  Everything won't fit in my Coach.  I'm going with a Ju Ju Be.

I would need a picture :) But I am personally a coach fan. Its fine as a gift but I wouldnt had got it for myself. I cant tell you the amount of times a bottle exploded or some other thing happend that my bag is a mess. Id say the cuter and bigger one go for :)

I'm not familiar with the Petunia Pickle but I have a Coach Diaper bag that I got when I was pregnant with DD and LOVE it! It works when I'm going somewhere casual or even a little more dressy and I've never had issues with the size. Plus it will make a great general bag when I'm done using it as a diaper bag.

Personally, I think Petunia Pickle Bottom bags are dumb-looking (too cutesy for me), so I would go with the Coach.

personally i wouldn't spend that kind of $ on a diaper bag, so i wouldn't buy either. i was barely willing to spend on the skip hop bag we had for DS. don't get me wrong, i  love designer bags (only ever bought them on super discount/sales though).

diaper bags are in way too close proximity of diaper changes and sh*t happens, ykwim? i would hate to have that kind of damage occur to a designer bag.

Which is more of a priority to you -- functionality vs. looks?

I love the function of the PPB bags, but I do not care for the loud patterns.

Coach is pretty timeless, but I don't nkow as much about their functionality.

I bought a Kate Spade -- it was on major sale on black friday.  Just plain black with a red liner.

Thanks ladies! I love the look of the Coach one because it resembles a purse and i'm assuming I would carry it as a purse with LO vs a purse and a diaper bag. The Petunia Pickle I don't love the pattern but I have heard great reviews. Cost wise neither is an issue because it was a gift. I think i'm going to keep the coach one and exchange the petunia pickle.

I don't know what Petunia Pickle is but I do know that if you go cheap you will be replacing them often. I know people who have gone through 2-3 within the first 18 months because of the wear and tear to the less quality made bags.

If you decide you can't decide, there is nothing wrong with having 2 quality bags. I fell in love with a carter's grey and light blue one before I even knew I was pregnant. I still really like it. I was at the beach for the weekend with my girlfriends and the coach outlet store had 30% off everything and there was a diaper bag that I was dumbfounded by in the discount section. It was originally $278 and I got it for $136 with the extra store savings. I plan on packing both with the essentials so that if I am in a hurry I can grab and go.

I have a coach diaper bag.  I hate it.  It's really not practical.  It doesn't feel too heavy empty, but once you put all of the baby gear in it you will start feeling the weight.  Coach also doesn't have stroller straps (something I love about my current diaper bag) and the little over the shoulder straps dig into your shoulder.  I used it for about 9 months before I finally went to BRU and bought a cheap Columbia diaper bag.  It's half the size, lightweight, carries more and so much more practical.  I love Coach.  But I don't recommend their diaper bags.  You'll get a lot of compliments about the look of your bag, but it's not worth the pain of carrying it.

The one I just got for Christmas has a stroller strap.  If I knew how to post a picture I would ]

I am going to be totally unhelpful here and recommend you return both and get a Kate Spade one, lol! I got both of mine at the outlets and they are amazing! They have tons of pockets and a cute changing pad, plus the stroller straps. Also, they both look like regular purses (I hate the look of most diaper bags...just because I am a mom doesn't mean I have to look like a mom, KWIM) and are cute enough to carry once baby is out of diapers. Both are fairly lightweight too, even when stuffed, which is nice!

Mine has a shoulder strap....maybe you have an older version?
