Intro & BFP!

Hi!

I'm Emma I'm 26 and live in Boston, MA. My DH and I have been together for almost 5 years, married almost 3. My DH had a DD from a previous marriage - she is 7 and probably the coolest little one I know! ;)

I had my IUD in for 3 years and had it removed 11/15/12

 BD 12/2, 12/6, 12,8, 12/11-12/16, 12/18, 12/19, 12/23, 12/25

BFP 12/27!!!!

I lurked around on the TTC board and posted a few times with a less than warm welcome I must say. :(

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all more!

Congrats on the BFP

With that said...posting a BFP to a bunch of internet strangers who are Trying to get pregnant isn't a great idea, which is why your original post should have been here on 1st Tri. The TTGP board is great for those who are trying. But they don't want a completely new person coming in and showing off their BFP while they're still waiting/trying for theirs.

You would have been welcome if you posted throughout your TTC journey but a drive by BFP is considered to be poor form. This is the place to post in your situation.

Congrats on your BFP, but I must say, if you lurked on TTGP, then you would know that unless you intro'd and we know you, we aren't going to really care about your BFP.  You're basically a stranger to all of them.

not going to drudge this out but if you had a less than peasant response after that why did you feel the need to post your BFP?

regardless, congratulations. hope you have a h&h 9 months.

Hence why nobody knows you there.  You had 6 posts total before your BFP announcement.  And I'm going to venture a guess that the responses to your previous questions were blunt and honest.  We don't blow smoke up your a$$ on that board.

also bragging this was my first cycle! yah not going to go over that well either.

it is not wise to talk badly about other boards. especially one that a lot of us came from, love, and respect.

If you stopped posting on the board, then why did you feel the need to post your BFP? Was it to rub it in their faces? I honestly can't think of another reason you would do that if you hadn't gotten to know anyone. Would you walk up to a group of strangers and tell them that you just found out you were pregnant?

Congrats on your BFP!  I saw your post on the TTGP board and I hope you deleted before many people saw it.  If you truly lurked there you would know not to post a BFP drive by as well as brag about it being your first cycle.  It looks like you've made it to the right board though so enjoy First Tri and best of luck to you!

I also got a BFP our first month trying. When I posted on TTGP, I received nothing but warm wishes. It's because I got to know those girls. Granted, I had only been on for about two months, but I was a daily poster. They're not mean, but you can't expect strangers to be excited for you. Would you run into the unemployment office and tell them all about your new job and how it was the first application you filled out?

With that said, welcome to the board. Hope to get to know you.

As an IF girl, I can say women ttc can be a little testy. Sorry you didn't feel welcome, this is definitely the right board for you.
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! I wish congratulations to people who aren't rude to others. The OP rubbed her BFP in the faces of the people on the TTGP board after not participating there at all. It was rude - or do you go up to strangers and tell them about your recent pregnancy? If she had just made her BFP post here, no one would have had an issue with it, and everyone would have duly wished her congrats.
