Yes it is... However, I will say this. When I went to register at Buy Buy Baby, the associate who was helping me offered to take care of the "basics"... Safety stuff, white onesies, bathtime stuff, etc... So a couple of weeks later when I looked at the registry after the invites had gone out, I saw that there had been several gift cards (all for different amounts) requested by "me"... I was horrified and deleted them immediately.
Could it be a similar situation to your friends...Perhaps you could ask her if she knows they're on there, to make your point :)
