Umm, when I and SO went to our childbirth class, we got to learn things about the developing baby, and then when they went to get into breathing and learning how to push and all the physical things, we had to stop and leave because I was having some serious contractions. LOL. So we were not really educated on giving birth. I being the only daughter of a woman who has had 6 kids just asked my mom questions.
I was actually not planning on having a natural birth. I was thinking that the pain was going to be so horrible so I would get an epidural. I ended up with a seriously quick labor and delivery (less than an hour from start to finish) with my water breaking naturally before we left for the hospital. My pain felt so minimal, that I did not ask for anything, and have photos of me texting family as the OB came in ready to go. I did not do any stretching, or learn any breathing techniques.
Can I say that this is the way to go? Probably not, at least read up about what can help you through it. I was just extremely lucky that DS was in a hurry to be here. With this LO I don't know if it will be the same. DS was born at 38 weeks exactly weighing in at 7lbs8oz. This LO alreaady is estimated to be weighing 5lbs. Roll with it is what I tell myself.
