Lurker with a question...

Hey there!

I usually lurk here but have a question maybe one of you ladies could help me with... For the last couple of days my boobs have been super itchy (I thought it was bc they were growing, changing, being pg, etc). Last night, I got out of the shower and felt them REALLY itching. I looked down and saw these bumps that were very small and feel like grains of sand when I run my hand over them. This morning I woke up and they are concentrated more on my boobs and underneath them, however, they are spread across my belly now too. They hurt so bad and itch like crazy!!!!!!!! I called my OB and the nurse said it's a pg rash and to take Claritin, I can take Benedryl sparingly, I can soak in an oatmeal bath, and I can use topical cream sparingly. She said heat makes it worse (which is great bc this is where I am heated the most!), and it doesn't go away until after birth! F.M.L. Is anyone else in my boat? Any other remedies?? I'm desperate (and itchy).

I'm sorry I've never been through this and it sounds painful. Have you tried going without a bra when you can and just wearing a light shirt? I hope you find a soultion soon!

I do when I'm at home, but at work it's impossible lol. There's no way to stay cool there unless I shove an ice pack in there, but then that's causing moisture there which also sets them off. I'm $crewed

Try switching to a dye and fragrance free detergent and wash your bras ASAP. Also, I would suggest a hydrocortisone cream. I got itchy bumps around week 24 and they went away after a few days when I used the cream and washed all my clothes. (Not that I don't wash them frequently, but I had a cold that week too and had been using Vicks vaporub on my chest and hadnt yet washed my Pajamas).

Life was wonderful before you came along. Now I can't imagine how much more spectacular it will be when you come into our lives.

I'm going to have to try that. Being only 28 1/2 weeks I don't think I can wait until 40!

I had something similar before with DS. Benadryl and hydrocortisone didn't work for me and eventually my OB had to prescribe me a steroid. Hopefully yours clears up soon, just keep an eye on it.

Did they tell you you could be hospitalized for it?

I hate to tell you this but I have been dealing with this since 18 weeks and it is awful.  I was tested for gallbladder and liver issues (negative, thank goodness) and they basically ruled out PUPPs so therefore I have been stuck just itching at all times.  I have tried Benadryl, Vistaril, Hydrocortisone cream, various lotions and cocoa butter, etc.  Cold makes it feel better and everything takes an edge off but it is always there.  I cannot wait for it to go away.

The doctor said to keep it as cold as possible but how the heck do you do that?! it is miserable, but I'm just thankful it doesn't effect LO

Lurker here

i had PUPPS. I had uncontrollable itching. What honestly worked vp best for me was plain white vinegar applied with a cotton ball directly to the bumps. And for the record I tried the dandelion root, hydrocortisone cream, oatmeal baths, prescription creams and ointments. I just started traveling with a small bottle of vinegar and cotton balls.

With my last pregnancy I had PUPPS, which I know is different, but it was also SUPER itchy and there wasn't much I could do about it. The thing that worked best for me was keeping ice packs on the rash. Wrap them in a towel to cut down on moisture. I'm so sorry, being in 3rd tri is uncomfortable enough without being itchy too!
