Second Appt.

So I went to my second appointment for my check up, they did a physical, and did some cultures...all that good stuff.
My doctor, who I may add is rude and completely ignorant, came back in the room and said that they found some blood in my urine sample, but didn't elaborate at ALL any further and sent me home. Should I go to the ER and see what this is? It's Saturday so my doctor isn't open, and I need to know what's going on. Please help!!

Your doctor would have done more testing if he thought it was something to be worried about. I'm not sure what blood in your urine could mean but I'm sure your doc would have done something about it if it was a concern.

I ask many questions. She just wasn't answering. She would start talking about something else...I asked her what the blood meant and how much. If it was normal. All she said was it's not normal, and laughed at me...And being rude and disrespectful? That's not even right...

Time to find a new doctor. And I would tell her exactly why I'm leaving.

This definitely makes me feel better, thank you so much! I will be switching doctors though for sure, I know I'm not the only one who doesn't want a disrespectful doctor looking over me.

I agree witht the PP. Why didn't you ask questions if you had them? Going to the ER is probably not going to do you any more good than waiting for your doctor's office to open and give them a call. If you have questions you have to ask, that is their job no matter how crappy their bedside manner is. More than likely you will go to the ER to sit for countless hours and they are not going to be able to tell you much more. Does your doctor have an after hours number? Perhaps you can call and talk to the triage nurse and they can pull your file.

This. Exactly. There are plenty of OB's who aren't rude and actually welcome questions.

Sorry I was typing as you were responding I guess. I would call their on call nurse. And yes I would look for a new doctor.

No. I would not go to the ER unless you are in pain or actually peeing blood.

I would call your doctor's office on Monday and ask more questions and/or get an appointment with a different doctor. This is ridiculous. Why do women allow themselves to be treated this way?

I guess in my initial post, I should've been more clear that I DID ask questions, she just wasn't happy with answering them...just plain rude. I asked the receptionist for my files, she said they would order them and they'd be ready in 5 days, and I will be switching to a new doctor. I ain't even gonna bother calling and asking these people. I already have another appointment in a week for this new recommended doctor. My sister loved her and said she was very helpful, very respectful AND respectable. So thanks everyone for your answers!! Means alot to me and little bean!!

Good for you! As a pp said, we shouldn't let our doctors treat us that way.

Ugh, that stinks. There is a rude doctor I don't care for in my practice but I love all the others and have gone there since I was a teenager so I am staying. Good luck with the new doctor!!

Glad you are getting a new doc. No one should put up with that.

As some of the other ladies have said, definitely find a new doctor! I also wouldn't trust that "if there was something wrong they would have done more tests". Your doctor sounds incredibly rude and almost as if she doesn't care about your concerns, so I wouldn't trust her to take the next steps in testing. I'd forget her and get an appointment with someone reputable right away to get the answers you need.
